Today is a very special day for me, my wife, and our little nephew (who we foster). My wife and I have been married for quite some years and have struggled with infertility. We have done all the tests, my wife has had multiple procedures done, and back in March we received the final verdict. We were told that we fall into the category of “unknown inability to conceive.” To add on to that we had a false positive that same week. We are big Catholics so unfortunately an IVF route was not something that we would explore for us. Well, today is the day we tell everyone that we are finally expecting and everything is going well. Happy 4th all, and never give up hope.

Some of us are descended from those who fought very hard to keep this place within the confines of the Empire, of course.

We are flying the Union Jack and toasting the loss of the colonies over here, but there is some light grilling going on all the same - salmon in a citrus marinade with grilled vegetables and an authentic Greek salad (you know, lettuce-free).

My company has both a London and an Edinburgh office and on a call on Friday, they both wished us here in Denver a happy 4th and the Vancouver folks a happy belated Canada Day before singing off.

Loved it; it was very kind on their part.

Such a fun day today.  We went to a 2 state parade that started in Orford, NH and ended in Fairlee, VT.  Went home and took a rare nap.  Then went to a party.  Now home, getting the kiddo to bed and about to drink beer and watch the Boston Pops.  So happy that we’re able to celebrate our nation’s birthday today!
