Grad Transfer Hello: Trey Harper (LS)
Seems like Michigan has picked up a grad transfer long snapper in Trey Harper. He played for Robert Morris University as a freshman and played in 8 games, and then at Duquesne playing in 11 games as a sophomore (according to his Duquesne profile). He is 6'5 245lbs and originally from Dayton, OH
Proud to announce that I have Committed to The University of Michigan for my 5th Year of Eligibility! Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way! #GoBlue 〽️ pic.twitter.com/RJAL1tnoyJ

In case cheeseman gets in foul trouble we might need Harper to come in and take a charge when the time is right

You know, as much as I chuckled, we might be one of the few teams that will eventually have a longsnapper slapped with a targeting call or something fairly catastrophic like that.

i don't know, man - cheeseman is probably better at taking the charge and / or drawing a 'roughing the snapper' call.
that that happened against wisconsin just made it all the more yummy.

Any 6-5 245 lbs Duquesne grad can play TE.

The Transfer Portal
Ohio State: "Hey, let's grab a 5* QB. Everyone agree? Oh, wow, that was easy!"
Michigan: "Let's get a DIII long snapper from the portal! NEAT!"

I know there wasn't the portal last year but we did get a 5* qb on transfers last year.

Selective memory and the BPONE.

Well it's no longer last year, now is it??? ;-)

Wow this might be the first grad transfer I've seen who is using the rule as intended. Trying to get a graduate degree at a better university and playing sports while doing so.

In other recruiting news not worthy of its own thread, Dawand Jones signed with Ohio State. He's a massive OL from Indianapolis that was seen here as a possible backup plan to Trevor Keegan. He's a 3* outside of the top 1000, but picked up some good offers. How commitable they were is anyone's guess.
Danielson Ike of Kansas City, the other OL Michigan was looking at before the early signing period, signed with SMU . He also had some high profile offers and until today was expected to pick Oklahoma. Quite the surprise.

The Ike news lends strength to the qualification concern rumors.
With Jones, good job by Ohio State going out and grabbing a developmental prospect. Just wish someone else could have beaten them to the punch.

Maybe he'll wear #12.
