The two freshmen were witnesses that stated the young lady's claim of rape was false.  They admitted watching, asking to participate, filming, etc....and were punished.  She still maintains her claim that a rape occured but because Winston declined to cooperate he was rewarded with a lecture about sexual ethics.

Does that about wrap it up?

Here's something that adds a layer to the story per USA Today (LINK):

The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights opened an investigation of Florida State University into whether its handling of the Jameis Winston rape allegations violated Title IX laws, according to a letter confirming the decision that was obtained by USA TODAY Sports.

Part of the reason is in the article - the contention stated here is that FSU went almost a year without requesting the help of the alleged victim despite her stated willingness to assist, according to her lawyer.

It's also important to note that OCR opened the case after the alleged victim filed a complaint in early March.

FSU will cover their rears and at worst receive a reprimand and be forced to kick some life into a process that clearly takes a back seat to the needs of the football program. The question is, what will the NCAA do? Pre-Penn State, nothing, or at least not much. Post-Penn State, ? Jameis will be playing on Sundays before this shakes out.

as VP of Student Affairs for a large university and who have a strong desire to "advance" to a similar position at Ferris State is quite small.Ferris State was lucky. Or was she run out of town for some reason? I'd like to know more about that.

Florida State took a position at a much smaller Michigan University named Ferris State right?

Ferris State University has named a vice president of student affairs from a major public university in Florida. Jeanine Ward-Roof will begin the position on Feb. 17. Ward-Roof will be responsible for a $3.5-million budget at FSU and more than 50 staff. She will give leadership to many of FSU’s departments, including enrollment services and student life. Ward-Roof has held this same position for seven years at Florida State University.
