Here are how the 68 teams were seeded for you data nerds like me

That means the pollsters are wrong, not the committee.  Here's a team in a conference that's split very black-and-white between the very good top five and pathetic bottom five - and who made a routine habit of losing to the bottom five.  Couldn't get past Houston in their tournament.  Lost to 9-22 Temple and 12-20 USF.

Nonconference was beyond pitiful.  Nonconference SOS of 303.  Beat 9-22 TCU by seven.  Beat 6-25 UIC by eight.  So you have a team who barely beat anyone in the nonconference, didn't really even play anyone in the nonconference except for one good team that they lost to, kept losing to the bullshit teams in their conference, and finished the season cold in their tournament.  If that team had been in over an Iowa or an NC State there would've been howls of protest.  They got exactly what they deserved.
