ESPN Releases Top 50-11 NBA Players for 2020-21 (1 MGoNoteworthy Player)

This is a follow up from my post from yesterday.  I would have just edited that post but didn't immediately see how to accomplish that.  Spoiler Alert - Duncan Robinson is ranked #75.

ESPN released their 50-11 ranking today.  Caris is ranked #46.

From ESPN's paywalled article:

One thing to watch for: Before the Nets signed Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, LeVert was arguably the face of their young, tenacious squad. Now, with Durant and Irving healthy, LeVert is poised to emerge as a third star. "I feel like every single year I've gotten better," LeVert said. "And I want to continue with that trend." -- Andrews

Please stay healthy this year!  It seems like every season he starts really slow and then plays like an all star and then gets hurt.  Then comes back and is bad as he gets rounds back into form and then plays like an all star again.

Frankly I think that unless Levert gets traded he's going to be in the background.  There aren't going to be enough shots to go around with Durant, Kyrie, and Dinwiddie.

I love him and think he'd be a great #2 guy on the right team.  As the #3 or #4 guy on the Nets with two superstars who....well.....like to get their own shots?

Strongly disagree. you can see my comment below but he was the 83rd most efficient player in the NBA even though he had the 18th highest usage rate in the NBA. He's not efficient enough to be the 2 on a winning team. Proving he can slide into that 3 or 4 in that KCP role on the Lakers this past playoffs is his best bet long term. #2s on teams that are title contending are AD, Paul George,  Murray or Jokic (since they're basically 1A and 1B), CJ McCollum. He's not that level of player.

His point totals may dip this year but I expect him to be much more efficient as he won't be solely relied on to score at the end of the shot clock.

The Nets 3 best players have a pretty rough injury history so hopefully they can keep it together. Definitely the talent to win a championship but Nash as coach seems weird. Almost as weird as Kyrie.

LeVert is gonna get a ton of open looks this year. But if Kyrie passes the ball is the question.

Hopefully the nets are dumb enough to trade for Harden, which would mean LeVert would be sent to Houston with a pretty solid squad (considering all the players the rockets have + their bounty from the Nets).

I'm glad they think Duncan is only the 75th best player in the league.   At the end of the year he will certainly be paid much better than the 75th player in the league.   In the end, that is all that matters.

Hardaway Jr and GRIII had pretty good seasons last year also

Robinson's thing is his shooting of course. I think he has the most potential to improve his game among these four.

It's probably a fair ranking. Last season (understand the he only played 45 games) had the 18th highest usage rate in the NBA while only ranking 83rd in Player Efficiency Rating. He averaged 3 TOs per game but only 4 assists a game. Was not very efficient on such high usage. Hopefully having Kyrie and KD to pickup that load should help him settle in to a nice #3 or #4 option alongside Dinwiddie. That's where he can really prove his value longterm in the league. He's not a #1 or #2 guy on a title contending team, but he can make a lot of money being the 3 or 4.
