Empty Stadium at ACC Championsip Game

Submitted by LJ on
What is with these empty stadiums at championship games? It looks half full for BC/VT right now, and last night in the MAC game it looked like there were about 1500 people at for Ford Field. The MAC I can understand, but you would think the VT and BC have some draw. I guess it's too far for people to travel?

The announcers said they sold about 5,000 tickets for the game, and that they were "giving them out" on the street before the game.

I've been saying for a while the ACC is retarded for putting the game in Florida. I think they thought they'd have Miami-FSU championship games. But probably 90% of the ACC fanbase is within about a four or five hour drive from Charlotte, which is where the damn game should be. Fans won't travel twice; they're saving their money for the bowl game.

The ACC has done this continuously, last year there were even less people in Jacksonville. They should put the game in Charlotte and stop trying to be relevant in Florida.
