Earnest Thomas???? Recruitniks, whats the story?

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on
Just saw an article on the website of the newspaper-whose-name-we-dare-not-speak written by Josh Helmholdt who writes for TheWolverine.com. Article mentions a UCLA safety commit from Orchard Lake St. Mary's named Earnest Thomas who decommitted to stay closer to home and mentions a bunch of Big Ten schools and loosely refrenced Michigan and Little Brother as possible landing spots. Any of you who pay more attention than I do to recruiting know anything about him and whether he's interested in Michigan and whether the interest is mutual. He is obviously playing a position of need, from a good HS program and is pretty tall.

Thomas will probably will be a last minute offer, if at all. Sean Parker is our #1 safety target. Thomas is reputedly a workout warrior whose on-field production doesn't match his off-field results.

He wouldn't be brought in as a safety. He's going to fill out and be a linebacker in college. And *apparently* he's back on Michigan's radar because he had a good senior year and the coaches were impressed when they saw his senior film, similar to Hankins. Obviously no offer yet, it would be really close to Signing Day, I'd imagine.
