Eagles just ran a play that we should use

McNabb is lined up at wide out. Vick takes the snap, hands it to the RB (zone read style) and the RB runs off tackle and pitches it to McNabb near the sideline. Philly had set up a nice little pocket for McNabb, who had time to throw. He ended up only hitting the TE underneath for less than 10 yards, but that worked well enough to run it 5+ times per game - throw it a few times, and run the zone read out of it a few times. Not sure what the blocking scheme would be in order to run v. pass.

Stanford...they did it from the other side of the field but Stanford bit on the play and the TD pass from Clausen to Floyd was wide open........But I agree, this play being run with Tate and Shoelace opens a ton of options from it......

I have been wanting to see something like that with Forcier and Denard for a long time. I would still love to see Forcier pitch to Denard on a reverse, who eventually throws it back to a wide-open Forcier for a TD.

Backside contain blows it up, and defenses catch on quick. Its good to pull out in the third quarter of a close game, but there's really nothing you cam run off it, and it relies on the defense blowing an assignment. Not saying we shouldn't incorporate it, but you can't run it even once every 3-4 games with much success, and really its most effective thrown out maybe once a year.

Sounds like a cool play and it actually made me think of another idea for a new wrinkle in the zone read. One of them is currently to have the slot guy as a pitch option if the QB keeps. Well, what about having the other slot guy as a pitch option for the RB, if the QB hands off to him? That means there's 2 reads on the play no matter whether the QB hands it off or not. Read 1: QB hands off to RB or keeps it Read 2: Whoever has the ball - QB or RB - either keeps it or pitches to a slot.
