Dr. Who- Appointment Television; NOT OT

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
So I was tuning into Dr. Who rerun tonight on BBC America (yeah, I was watching it, what of it?!?), when during the the credits they're running their promo, and it says "'...start making this appointment television....' - Michigan Daily". So not only some pub for the old school paper, but INTERNATIONAL acknowledgement. Right up there with Entertainment Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter and Philadelphia Daily News. So kudos to the Daily staff.

Any show in its 31st season can't be all bad. Sometimes a bit too campy for my taste, but it has its moments, and can be downright scary (in recent years, "Blink" from 2007 takes the prize). I'm still on the fence about the new cast, but I'm a couple of episodes behind -- I gather the statues from "Blink" are back...

Straight up Dr. Who...Best show of TV, some of the CG and all of that may be extremely tacky but as far as original plot lines and tying things together no other show holds a stick to it.

Fantastic Doctor.  I've pretty much finished series 4 except for the 2-part End of Time, where the regeneration is supposed to occur.  So what's the verdict on Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor?  Any good so far?  The Eccleston to Tennant transition was pretty easy for me, honestly.  How is the new companion?  Just sayin, but Freema Agyeman (who played Martha Jones) is gorgeous.

Not having gone through it 10 times before, but he seems to have slipped right in. And the new companion is pretty tasty if you like redheads (though oddly tall). But then we've come a long way since having Freema, having had to live through the Donna Noble years, so maybe it's just rose-colored glasses (though not Rose-colored glasses).
