Donovan Edwards says it would be dope to play with "Tom Brady"

In the sports deprived time we are in now, I will take fluff pieces all day. I thought it was pretty cool that the stud local running back who is at the top of the target list thinks of the prized recruit in the class as Tom Brady.

Damn not being able to edit original posts.

Here is the quote.

“J.J. is like Tom Brady in my eyes,” Edwards said. “It would be dope to play with what I call Tom Brady. That’s just what I call him in my head.”

Given the way some of our fanbase is with the next shiny thing I’m sure J.J. will have moments of how Tom Brady was treated here.

Fair point, but remember it was the head coach who got distracted as much (if not more) than the fan base.

It wasn't until after the MSU game that he realized it was better for the team to have Brady take basically all of the snaps.

For as derided as that plan has been in retrospect (correctly, IMHO), I don’t believe it cost us any games.

Brady wasn’t having a good game until he was reinserted in the 4th quarter, and we only had 6 rushing yards all game.

And Brady played the entire Illinois game.

Brady sat the 2Q of the Illinois game.....not sure that was a big deal, as I think Henson only engineered 2 or possibly 3 drives.  Had we gone 4 wide on offense that entire game, we probably beat Illinois.....but Kittner had a really good game.

(Edit:  Refreshing my memory via mgoblue.com's box score, Brady finished a drive that began in the 1Q, but resulted in a TD in the 2Q.  Henson also engineered a TD drive -- all runs -- in the 2Q.  A big problem in that game was us trying to close out the game by running the ball.....and when AT went out with an injury, we only averaged 2 yards per rush in our typical run-or-die-trying mode down the stretch, while Illinois sliced up our tired D.  We were up 27-7 at one point, before the D collapsed and the running game stalled.)

J.J. would be more Henson in your scenario no?  Brady was a 4 star Henson was the 5 star savior.  Henson was a fine QB(. Would’ve really liked to see how his senior year would’ve turnt out without those damn yANKEEs getting involved). But Brady should not have come off the field when they were on offense.

He also says he has "no doubt" he could get Michigan past aOSU and into the playoff as well as completely turn MSU around and back playing with the big boys if he went there so that great RB confidence is definitely there.

I’m just glad I’m not the only one who still says “dope”!  I can’t wait to tell my wife!

The table is set. The generation of Future Wolverines to come that are able to sustain Championship success (beat Ohio state) will be the next group of Michigan legends.
