Don Brown Appears on "Make Defense Great Again" Podcast

Don Brown is the latest guest on the relatively new "Make Defense Great Again" podcast. I'm only about 1/2 way through, and some of it is pretty wonky and over my head as someone who's never played or coached football, but I'm still enjoying it due to Brown's enthusiasm and depth of knowledge.

Should also be available via the usual suspects (Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, etc.)

Agreed. Pony needs to hold TUOS under 60 and maybe beat them before he gets accolades for making defense great.

Then again, Benedict Mattison held TUOS to 42 in consecutive years and people somehow thought he was an awesome DC.

If you are interested in scheme heavy discussion, this is likely the best podcast you will ever find with Brown discussing his philosophy. It will not be dumbed down, so be warned, but Coach Vass has put together a hell of a list of podcasts this summer.

I would be happier with making the offense great again. We need to start outscoring opponents, like, you know, almost every team that has been in the playoffs since they started. Scoring a lot of points is modern football.

That's weird, I thought he was contractually obligated to appear only on "Make Defense Great Again, but Only if it's Against a Terrible Offense that Any Talented Defense Would Perform Well Against."

"Make Defense Great Again vs. Teams with Crossing Routes and a Pulse" would be more like it.  This is not a troll, sorry, not sorry.

Sounds great, but seems like something that screams for visual aids as you're trying to understand the concept. There are only so many X's and O's you can keep straight in your head without actually seeing X's and O's.
