maybe Graves too. The problem is these guys are giving verbals wayyy too early in the process, before they've really had the chance to evaluate their options. I don't think an early signing period is the solution; it will just make things worse. Brian's idea of a nonbinding letter of intent that would prevent the recruit from taking visits or getting contacted by other coaches is a better solution. That will cut wayyyy down on the early commitments, to those who are truly serious. There's nothing wrong with teenagers wanting to check out the alternatives, but they shouldn't be giving verbals simply to the school they last visited.

I'd be more shocked to see Jones sign with us tomorrow than Jelani Jenkins, Dre Kirkpatrick, or any other of the pipe dream recruits

Our depth at DT is pretty suspect too. If we don't get Jones or Graves (now looking like a distinct possibility) that leaves us with Martin, Sagesse, Campbell and...Ferrara? Maybe that Carradine rumor will prove to have substance, but we really need more big bodies to stash in the middle.

there is probably so much false info going out about these kids that it's best to take a deep breath and hold it until after 6pm EST tomorrow. Then you can exhale and relax.

basically a number of recruits told him that RR/M was pressuring the kids to give verbals at that time or the offer would be revoked. According to Tom, this led to some soft verbals like Pearlie and DQuinta who wanted to hedge their bets. According to Tom, RR is no longer doing this, but that explains a lot of what seemed like quick jumps - especially for a guy like DQ who had not even been on campus.

Outside of their dickhead coach and fag QB I wouldn't blame him if he went to Arkansas. It's the only town I found that has the same vibe as AA. Walmart money up there.
