I was at the game with my Husker fan wife, and the reputation of welcoming fans is well-earned. Very nice all around.

Game was miserable: incredibly hot and completely noncompetitive. Crowd was out of it after M went up 14.

The highlight was a Gatling gun t-shirt cannon pulled by a John Deere tractor. Pure unfiltered 'Merica.

Love this dude's reaction every year.

I am really sorry that he is unlikely to ever see Nebraska be a powerhouse again - basically they are now Northwestern and Rutgers out in the sticks.

Actually not sorry at all - fuck him, Scott Frost, Frost's mother, and all those Cornholes.  They are lucky to have gotten their mediocre asses into the BIG when they did.

I dunno how delicious it is when I can only stomach 30 seconds of a 7 minute video.

But yeah I do have some friends from Nebrasker who are huge Husker fans.  I've hung out at a couple bars with them and many other Husker fans to watch a few games (not vs. M).  They are likeable people.  But considering they stole a half of a Natty from us, it's something I can never forgive.

We played 2 common opponents in '97.  Michigan gave up one FG and one FG respectively.  Nebrasker gave up 21 & 24 and barely escaped a win with Colorado.

So fuck Nebrasker and I could give a shit if they never won another game.

You use "schadenfreude" and "defenestration" in the same post? Maravilloso!

As for the guy, if I were a director, here's how I'd assess his presentation:

• The beard is trying to say I'm-a-MAN-dammit! but it's contradicted by the light, whiny voice and the apologetic tone.

• The long hair is too wispy, trying to say "free-spirit" but reading as someone working hard to copy someone cool.

• The message is mixed, giving the sense that he wants to be seen as being authentic, a true voice making bold comments but also hiding behind an implicit claim of being nice, as if to also say "so please don't be mad at me."

Dude, I'm as salty as anyone about getting jobbed out of consensus #1 after Scott Frost whined and cried and then Phil Fulmer downvoted us so far, but appreciating schadenfreude from the Cornhuskers in 2023 is not delicious. It's sad.

I've gotten into the habit of watching some of the opponent fan youtube sites to see how others perceive Michigan.

1. Nebraska - Corn Nation because of the raw emotion. Many sites thought this Wolverine team would not be as tough as they were. Some even thought there was a chance of an upset. After this game, they've had to go into a deep re-think.

2. Iowa - Check out Hawkeye of the Storm. Fascinated by the onoging struggles with offense even before Cade McNamara transferred - it has many elements opf classic Shakespearean tragedy: family dynamics between HC and son, nepotism, and how everyone seems to try to talk around what they all know is true. The Hawkeye offense is badly designed and implemented. The host is very patient with the callers.

3. Rutgers - Rutgers Rant. Run by professional journalists. They really like coming to Ann Arbor, and are open in their support of their experience. It is fun trip for them and they hit the local eateries and have a great time. They loved the frisbee dog, Victor, and very happy Michigan does not engage in things like using a train horn. Despite being from Rutgers, they despise the horn used there which they feel will lead to hearing loss. Gave us top marks for loudness of cheering without resorting to such gimmicks.

This guy is hard to not like, even though he's a Nebraska fan.  He's rational, not overly angry, and not hating on their players.  He's old enough to remember the days when Nebraska was great and is having a hard time putting up with the never-ending mediocrity.  I think we can all identify somewhat with that.  But this video makes me appreciate all the more what we have at Michigan now.  We should savor it.

Yeah, I agree with you when I posted this guy’s reaction video last night. I find his stream-of-consciousness takes many times amusing and funny, but always bittersweet. I want to laugh with him not at him because we know what this was like for several years. Mercifully, we were spared the duration and depths of what is happening to Nebraska. Just puts everything in perspective.
