DeAndre Haynes to Maryland
Scoop coming from 247. Nice to see Haynes land on his feet after reportedly turning down a big $$ job early in the offseason and hanging around through the transition.
Good luck to him almost all of the time!
I'm glad to see he found another good job. Out of the whole situation, he was the one I felt the most badly for due to him turning down a job very recently in order to stay.
what job did he turn down?
Supposedly OSU.
Good for him. Young guy. Quality coach. I'm sorry to see him go, but I'm hopeful for both him and Juwan.
Good on him! Too bad it's in the B1G, though. I'd prefer he continue to make his bones against teams other than Michigan. Maybe after a few years, and a few more promotions, he might be ready to take over the reins here.
Expecting Juwan to go somewhere?
My few years is probably close to a decade. Haynes will need to get a top assistant job first, then a head job at a low mid-major, then a head job at a high mid-major, then he'd be ready for Michigan.
Also, I highly doubt that Howard is a college lifer. He was in the NBA for the past 25 years. If he has success here, he'll look to get back to the elite league.
It's funny, I was just thinking about how many of our assistants coaches as of late have ended up at other Big Ten schools. This is our second basketball assistant recently and obviously the two traitors with the football team. Be curious to see if that happens to more programs as often or if this is just a blip.
Seems like assistant coaches in SEC Football always switch schools within the conference every few years
Mark Turgeon associate now. Congratulations to Dre.
Good luck to him, and I'm glad he wound up at a decent place.
Great landing spot!
Seems like a good young coach. He served Beilein and Michigan well. Hope he continues to climb to reach his goals.
Awesome! Great dude. Good luck to Dre!
much more honorable transition than Greg M.
Congrat!
Now that's good news!!!
Did he jump at the first thing that came along? Is this a good Jon?
