DE Rashan Gary Presser from this evening

Submitted by SkyPanther on

Rashan Gary's turn in front of the cameras.

On Aidan Hutchinson:

He's tied to my hip...

He wants to be great...

I'm trying to be that big brother... If you mess up on something, short memory.

On where he feels he is right now:

Eatin' better. Workin' on the little things....

Wearin' contacts now. Seeing the field better... I wish I had done that sooner.

This is getting me in the football mood.  Can’t wait for the BTN show on Monday!!

Sure it will be hype and the usual coach-speak, but normally one can get a few good tidbits (despite DiNardo) along with a little actual practice footage.

I know Gary wore glasses before, but I'm reminded of Roundtree who realized mid-career he needed glasses and he was raving about seeing the ball so much better.

Maybe all players should have annual eye exams, takes little effort and can make a big difference.

So you're telling me that we've actually only seen Rashan Gary with like 80% vision? Buckle up.

Also, as someone who, at one point, tried to play helmet-wearing sports with actual glasses on underneath (i.e. Rodrigo Blankenship), I can attest to the fact that contacts make you feel like superman.

Also also - did anybody get a little scared when they asked Gary about Wimbush? Say a prayer for Brandon on August 31st.

Once again, nobody is rushing to talk about McCaffrey or Peters when Shea is brought up. And Gary specifically, unprompted, mentioned that Shea can hit the deep ball.

That sounds good. Except from a couple of late-season Rudock passes that long ball has been missing from Michigan's offense, and the way Harbaugh designs his offense it's a vital factor that has been absent.

I'm usually not a big mark for player interviews. They're learning to say stuff without saying stuff, and they do fine at it. But I'll take whatever I can get right now.
