I can't edit my post, but he isn't seeking that from MSU, but from the arresting officers. He hasn't stated in his suit what is seeking in his unfair termination suit.

Part of it depends on how much dirt he has on the football program.

However, that being said, I could see MSU simply paying him hush money to be quiet.

BTW, does anybody else remember when ESPN did the "Outside the Lines" special on college athletes being in trouble with the law, and how Meyer's Florida was singled out?  During that program, they talked about other schools being petitioned via FOIA for stats on athletes being arrested and Sparty was one of them.  Interestingly, they said that Sparty was only one of two schools on that list who were trying to block their request (I believe they eventually lost).

That MD deposition is going to be a doozy.

The statement released this week by Dantonio saying he should have to talk about Blackwell and not the incidents regarding players  which Blackwell is bringing up, was a legal Hail Mary at it's finest.  Blackwell's case for wrongful termination DEPENDS on his knowledge of Dantonio's recruiting  of bad guys in the name of winning.  Dantonio firing Blackwell shaded him as the guy responsible for having the bad guys on campus and keeping them there.

Only a blatant Sparty judge would limit the scope of the questions the way Dantonio wants.

If MSU's primary mission is to save face for Izzo and Dantonio, settle this lawsuit.

I frankly do not understand Blackwell's case.  By all indications he was terminated for not following proper procedures regarding reporting an alleged sexual assault.  That has nothing to do with who MSU recruits and - even in that incident - none of the three kids that were charged had a prior history of trouble.  I'm guessing Blackwell is trying to stay public with other allegations just to put pressure on for a settlement, as I truly don't see his case.

His case hinges on creating the appearance of a culture run amok. And him being a fall guy in the name of hiding that.

He basically argues that the failure to follow proper procedures on reporting the assault is dubious and a contrived reason to send him out the door.

Dantonio coming out saying he should be allowed to testify only about what he considers relevant is not only arrogant, it's indicative a guy who has been allowed to coast through with zero scrutiny by the local media.  Which he has.

Man I hope Blackwell refuses to settle with MSU. I want him to take them to the cleaners. Don’t let them win by taking a settlement. Insist on going to court. I wish just one person would insist on that (obviously assuming that person has a lock tight case).

Dantini will try and hide behind his lawyers. He may have to sit for a deposition but I expect a lot of answers like “I have no recollection of that.” He will do the Red Cedar two step and nothing will happen to him.

Yes. He also hid behind his God and family last year when he was caught lying about not being on the field when they ran over Devin Bush before last years' game. Did not want to talk about it after getting caught.

Classic blohio state "Hayes Lie Training" classes have served him well.

Anyone else notice how the press cowtowed to Mork when he got that win last week and completely ignored how we just learned the man allowed a sexual predator to come onto their campus? Seems like if a Michigan coach had done the same thing the Freep would be camped outside his house ...

The local press has been kissing his and Izzo's ass for years. All of the rapes and beatdowns have been swept under the rug for years. Instead they write about Dantonio the disciplinarian, what a joke. Notice how all of the negative press gets released on a Friday afternoon.....

1) It's MSU that performs the Friday afternoon news dumps, not the media.

2) You have the same disease as MSU fans do about the way a rival is covered in the local media. You mistake a lack of ravenous hatred - easily seen here and on RCMB - as "kissing their ass".

Spend a couple decades or more as a lawyer (actually, even a couple days should be sufficient), and you'll realize what someone is "seeking" in a lawsuit (claiming as damages) bears little relevance to either/both of what one would accept in settlement and/or what one has a chance in hell of recovering at trial.

It is hardly shocking to read that a plaintiff wants “millions of dollars” in a lawsuit.  For every plaintiff who says that and gets it, there are probably 99 who don’t.  At a minimum.

Tried or no, Blackwell was not the issue.  He tried to investigate what was going on with the football players and got thrown under the bus for it.

My guess is that he may have found more than he bargained for, so Dantonio got rid of him before more dirty laundry besides the three players in question could be uncovered.

Now, Blackwell appears to be ready to tell people more about what happened.  Wouldn't surprise me if Auston Robertson was just the beginning...
