Eh. I have no film knowledge of this kid, but he landed a committable offer from Oregon a little over a month ago.

So unless two Top 10 programs are really off in their evaluations, this kid is (at a minimum) quite good.

Anybody have any inkling how he compares to some of the S commits we seemed to have missed out on this year (Rowser, Groves, Tatum etc..)?  Just wondering if Dent is the consolation prize or if he was the priority.

From what I can glean, Dent is pretty high on the staff’s board. Probably comparable to Tatum or perhaps higher, since Clink wasn’t a huge fan of Tatum. This new staff didn’t recruit Rowser basically at all, so Dent is probably higher than him, too. Michigan definitely thinks Dent is way, way better than his ranking

Staff likes him better than those you listed.  (IMO They still would have taken Tatum if he would have committed in Summer but there were in-state benefits over just talent.)

Webb has been comparing him to athletically Daymon David from the 2021 class.  People were whining then when we offered a Safety rated in the 900s - he ended up #231 and at Oregon -- Hopefully this ones chooses M over the ducks.

Dropping in to provide my usual obligatory comment that the rankings are less reliable than ever this year. Even the 247-affiliated Michigan Insider podcast says on every recruiting episode that 247’s own rankings are weird right now. So if Dent’s low rankings scare you, rest assured that Oregon seriously wants this kid
