Countdown to Kickoff - 10 Days Left
Today's video is all about the receivers. They sound confident that this offense is going to be light years better than last year. We also get to see a little bit of JT Turner's speed as he chases down Odoms on a long pass.

"Under this offense, scoring 40 points is nothing."
Greg Matthews, countdown to kickoff 2008
I'm not saying we're going to suck again, just saying confidence, we're ready now, etc. won't mean anything til we see a Saturday.

Of course you're correct, but I think after a season in the system they have a much better feel for the offense and we can take their confidence with a little less skepticism. Last year the offense was all bright and shiny and they had every reason to believe that if it worked in practice it would work in a game. This season they know a little better what's good and what's not.
As you said, best to keep our expectations under control, but the confidence this year means more to me than it did last year.

not quite what he said. he said that if they execute well scoring 40 points is nothing. big difference from implying that the offensive schemes alone will net them 40+

Can I FOIA opposing teams playbooks? Not that just having their playbooks would give me any advantage to knowing what they are going to do in games, but could I actually get a copy?
I assume that ADs that are separate from the school may not fall under the FOIA, but what about the teams that do? It seems like those documents are technically public information. Would they be considered classified and off limits?
Just thought I'd ask with the whole SI preparing to sue or FOIA the ballots of each public schools' coaches when it comes to their top 25 voting.

Wouldn't it be more fun to FOIA the players' grades to find out which ones got a C in sociology or had some tutoring, so you can impugn their reputations, the reputation of Michigan, and the reputation of a professor who has devoted his life to educating young people?
And you can interview guys passed over for promotions and people who no longer work at UM (and won't give their "names" for fear that UM will send the Mafia to kill them) to buttress your agenda that some of Michigan's players may not be as smart as Stephen Hawking?

Was there this much optimisim coming out of last year's fall camp? If so, I don't remember it at all. They looked awful in the spring game and I think that a lot of us were pretty apprehensive. Rodriguez was on ESPN the week of the Utah game and you could tell he didn't have much confidence in his team. This year he's talking about bowl games and competing for the Big 10 championship. I don't know about our passing game or defense, but I think that our running game is going to be excellent, and I can't wait to see it.

yeah there was optimism. I remember a lot of "we're going to surprise a lot of people this year" type of comments. But with that said, I was skeptical when I heard those last year but this year is different. I'm believing it...

Did anyone else think that this C2K wasn't up to par with the quality of other C2K's? Seemed too short and it didn't have many interviews with any of the slot recievers we had.
