Corum tweets his surgery was a success; won't travel to Indy
Maybe this means there is a chance Corum will be recovered in time for the playoffs. Unless his condition was so uncomfortable that he wanted surgery ASAP, I would think he would want to go to Indy and get the surgery tomorrow. One reason to accelerate it: the possibility of a speedy recovery, as each extra day before the playoffs counts.

Almost as important is getting Donovan Edwards cast free. I’d also convert mullings back to RB full time. I liked him there in the spring game and let him battle it out with stokes for backup carries.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:03 PM ^
I don't know if it will be Mullings or Dunlap, but they have to get one of those two ready to pick up 20 carries today. I'm not one of the coaches so which one is better is up to them
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:08 PM ^
God help us if either of those two approaches 20 carries
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:10 PM ^
Agreed. More like between 6-10, depending on how much running we do
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:31 PM ^
If we’re getting down to the point where our 4th string running back is getting bulk carries, I really hope we just air it out
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:35 PM ^
Did you read the FFFF on Purdue's D? If that didn't say 50 carries and 250 yards rushing I don't know what to tell you.
Sure, they can throw extra bodies at the run, but with their secondary that's asking to be lit on fire.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:44 PM ^
Just because that would be asking to be lit on fire doesn't mean they won't ask anyway, see: OSU
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
Dunlap is so buried on the depth chart that I forgot about him till this mention. They're sending out a true frosh and a walk-on ahead of him and neither are...great.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
In his defense he was playing linebacker all year until oHIO.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:41 PM ^
Are you thinking of Mullings?
December 3rd, 2022 at 6:05 PM ^
Yeah that’s my bad I read the post fast.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
20 carries?
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:03 PM ^
I think he is mulling it over.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
20 carries in garbage time is OK by me. If Purdue can’t stop the run, that’s their fault.
December 3rd, 2022 at 3:11 PM ^
Dunlap to my eyes is a better runner than Stokes but got absolutely blown up in pass coverage. Watch the first CJ TD.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Hopefully his cast stays on until just before our playoff game. Literally no point in getting it taken off anytime soon
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:29 PM ^
It might actually be ideal to start practicing with the cast off a week or two before playoffs to get used to it again.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:00 PM ^
If he's trying to be ready for a national championship game every day counts. So definitely need to get the surgery ASAP regardless of any pain or discomfort.
Why delay it just so he can stand on the sidelines?
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:04 PM ^
Exactly--if there was zero chance he would be back in time, then he might want to delay it so he can stand on the sidelines. So there must be a non-zero chance.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:17 PM ^
Every day earlier he has it is also another day he has before whatever workout he might do for pros.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:19 PM ^
Conversely, he may be thinking about the NFL combine where every day of conditioning and recovery could impact his bank account.
Either way, there was no reason to delay surgery
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:39 PM ^
The combine isn't until the end of February, though.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
Players generally spend at least 6 weeks preparing for the combine though. Thye don't just show up and run.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:31 PM ^
Good point
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:50 PM ^
With NIL there's literally NO REASON his bank account for playing for Michigan couldn't possibly even exceed a 2nd-3rd round draft salary slot. Or a 1st round salary for that matter.
And the fact Michigan fans aren't trumpeting this in every discussion of who's staying or going shows Michigan is way too far behind the curve on this.
This is LEGAL now, no stupid ncaa rules to worry about (aside from stubbornly sticking to no "pay for play" while everyone else does it) so where's the fabled "Money Cannon"?!
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:03 PM ^
Probably more likely is that he wanted surgery as soon as possible so he could be ready for the Combine and Draft Day.
I want Corum back in the lineup as much as any of us. It’s probably a non-zero percent chance that he could come back for the CFP, but I’ve got to believe he’s done for the rest of the year.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:05 PM ^
I’ve probably been under a rock, but does anybody have clue what the surgery actually repaired? If it was a meniscus then he COULD be back by the championship assuming we take care of business. Either way, the kids a lot of the reason we’re her today, so I wish him the best.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
I've heard numerous rumors that it is his meniscus, but nothing official.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:14 PM ^
Seems like everyone has been pretty tight-lipped so far.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:50 PM ^
Imagine that. A player could lose a limb and it’d never leak out. I guess I appreciate the teams ability to not say shit.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:05 PM ^
I am not surprised that he embraces this adversity. He will be a better man as he recovers. And hopefully, a better player!
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:13 PM ^
Get well soon, BC!
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:18 PM ^
May be if it was just a torn meniscus? Some can get back to normal 2 to 3 weeks after surgery? Any other type of surgery, probably not.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
I haven’t seen many recover in less than 5-6 weeks and we’re talking about a running back who is known for his cutting ability. On top of how much contact he gets on a down to down basis. 2-3 weeks after surgery seems extremely unlikely.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
If Adrian Peterson can tear his ACL and be back in a few months, Corum can come back from a meniscus in a few weeks
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
The logic computes lol
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:52 PM ^
Didn’t Tua have ankle surgery the Tuesday before a game? Maybe not the ankle, but definitely remember a procedure on something.
December 3rd, 2022 at 4:56 PM ^
Mario Manningham tore his meniscus at Michigan, had arthroscopic surgery, and returned to play 3 weeks later.
December 4th, 2022 at 8:37 AM ^
Again, little different for a guy who isn’t taking contact on a down to down basis and isn’t known for his ability to cut. We aren’t just talking about someone being able to go out and run. His knee goes through a ton of stress as is. Asking for that knee to be 100% in that short turnaround doesn’t seem very realistic
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:20 PM ^
Good news. Thanks for sharing. Interesting it came from Los Angeles. God speed Blake.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:29 PM ^
Yeah, and Erick All went to Florida for his surgery. I assume that means they're getting the best treatment available in the country.
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:34 PM ^
I also think Cade had surgery in L.A. If I had to guess, Kerlan-Jobe @ Cedar Sinai
https://kerlanjobe.org/services/knee/
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
Oh, yes, Michigan literally has the patients of Jobe.
December 3rd, 2022 at 1:33 PM ^
Outstanding! I wish I could upvote it more than once.
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:13 PM ^
Dammit, if there was ONE joke for a Pope, this would have been it...
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:27 PM ^
Get well soon, Blake! 💙
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:29 PM ^
Glad to see that even though our team captain can’t travel with the team due to injury he’s still publicly supporting them!!!
December 3rd, 2022 at 2:53 PM ^
You talking about Cade?
December 3rd, 2022 at 12:30 PM ^
Be well Blake heal up for whatever the future may hold.
