Cornelius Jones

Submitted by HartAttack20-20 on
From what I see on the 2010 recruiting board, we still might have a couple of QBs left we can get. We already have Gardner, so who is the next best guy we can pick up? I'm rooting for Cornelius Jones just because of the name cornelius. Any thoughts on how possible it is that we will get him, or any other QBs in the class?

a tidbit I saw linked to on Rivals this morning about a recent camp/combine that featured Jones, Munchie Legaux and Blake Bell. Evidently Jones (presently unranked) outperformed both of those (4 star) guys on that day.

I think Christian Green would be a good pick up. He has already stated that he would like to play WR at the next level if the QB thing didn't pan out. His tape looks pretty good too. But if you want some serious info on the guy you need to talk with Tom VH, The Other Brian or maybe Magnus.

I think E.G. Green is Christian's uncle. Anyway, Christian Green wants to play WR at the next level. He's pretty much an FSU lock, from what I've heard. We don't have a very good chance with a few of the guys we've offered, like Green, Bolden, Sims, or Cobbs. However, Munchie Legaux likes us, as does Jones. Jeffrey Godfrey has us high on his list after Miami. I'm not sure how Jeremy Johnson feels about us. Anyway, I think our best chance for a true QB is Legaux. Jones has some ability, but he's said that Michigan is recruiting him as an athlete (he could move to safety), not necessarily a QB.

I hope we end up with one of these two along with Gardner. Munchie not just for the name, but he has great size/speed (6'4, 4.6 according to Scout) and put up some great stats last season (almost a 70% completion rate...who does that sound like?). Godfrey doesn't have ideal size, but from the YouTube videos he has a helluva arm. It looks like he can sling the ball 50 yards on the money with ease. He probably ends up in Miami, though. And yeah, I think we end up with Jones, maybe give him a shot at trying QB first but if that doesn't work out they'll move him elsewhere.

Has Stokes gone to a #3 option behind Jones and Munchie? I'd really like to see Michigan get another Tate type QB, very good passer who can scramble. While a player such as Denard would be exciting to watch I think for UofM to be nationally competitive they need a guy who can scamble just as well as he can pass. I know sheridan was that guy, honestly he was, he just sucked at both.
