Colorado College? Kesler only went to Ohio State. Went for one year then turned pro. His dad played college hockey at CC. |

I'm all for rooting for Team USA, but the thought of putting a former Ohio State Buckeye as my computer background at work... no thanks! |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | MILF special... |
I remember the MILF special they ran because, naturally, some folks didn't find it funny. I thought it was hilarious. And now the MUFF diving special? Awesome. |

There was an article in The A2 News a few years ago when Hart was at Michigan where he talked about wanting to coach the team some day. It may have been about Wheatley, too, since he had just started coaching. I just remember Fred Jackson saying he could tell which players would go on to be good coaches because when he teaches them, they don't just do what he says, they pick his brain and want to know why they're doing what they're doing, and that in all his years the two who did it most were Wheatley and Hart and that's why he felt they would go on to become good coaches some day. It's great to hear Hart continue to say that he wants to coach here one day, that it wasn't something he was just throwing out there, but he really meant it. That kid bleeds maize n' blue and would take a bullet for this program, and hopefully we will see him on the sidelines again in the future. |

Feb. 6 is also the day of the big outdoor hockey game at Wisconsin, which is also must win. |

I guess I'm still a bit curious if there's more to it. I mean, wasn't it last month or earlier this month that TomVH talked to Tony and Tony mentioned how he hadn't heard from the U-M coaches before Tom told him it was a no contact period (which also made it sound like other schools may have still been contacting him)? I've wondered since then if that dead period (which he apparently didn't know about?) influenced Tony negatively, if that's why he felt the coaches were cooling on him because he hadn't heard from them even though they couldn't contact him. Not saying that the Michigan coaches didn't just come out and say, "Hey, we're full, sorry," but it's just odd between the TomVH interview and how quickly this one spiraled downhill with Murphy going to Maryland and Grimes now looking elsewhere. Probably looking too much into it... |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | Earnest Thomas... |
Anything known about Orchard Lake St. Mary's safety Earnest Thomas? Three star recruit on both Rivals and Scout just decommitted yesterday from UCLA. Not sure how long ago the offer sheets on the sites were updated, but it looks like he has offers from pretty much all the Big Ten (minus Michigan/Michigan State), UCLA, Stanford, Missouri, and West Virginia. Was curious if there's any Michigan interest there as possibly a fall back if any of our other targets fall through. |

Who has been a converted Yooper for about 12 years now. Went to NMU and now live in Marquette. Summer and fall here rule. |

Halfway through the second period. Hagelin, Lebler, and Moffie with the U-M goals. |

...is the jabroni who banned the hockey pep band director from dancing at Yost Ice Arena. It had been a LONG standing tradition for the pep band director to dance in the third period if Michigan was winning and he felt the game was over. Despite outcries from the entire Yost faithful and e-mail bombardment, he stuck to his excuses for why it should be banned. IIRC, one of the excuses was his complaint that TV zooms in on the director's crotch when he dances, even though (a) that has never happened and (b) if it did then why doesn't he take it up with TV? That's not the director's fault. Another was that he couldn't put the director must be able to dance in a job description. Uh, none of the previous ones had it in their job duties, but they all danced. It just comes with the gig and if they look dumb during it, the more entertaining it is to the fans. But Haithcock wouldn't listen to logic and tradition. Good luck getting him to change his mind on anything. |

| 3 years 25 weeks ago | Eh, not concerned about Austin... |
Just look at his stats with the NTDP this season... 2-4-6 in 18 games. Not very impressive. A lot of folks were high on him because he did well with the Under-17 Team last year, but so far with the Under-18 Team he hasn't done much. |

End of the 1st period. Yeah, saw MGoBlue.com had a video link like they did last night. Didn't realize it went to the BGSU pay feed. |

The game between Wisconsin and Michigan starts at 5 p.m. Central Time. There is a women's game at 2 p.m. |

Should they try moving Mike Williams to Stevie Brown's role in 2010? |

Michigan dominates, though penalties are a concern. Took a few too many. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Red... |
Red benched Marty Turco for one game his senior year when he found out Marty skipped a class. The game he missed was a big one, too... Michigan at Michigan State in February with CCHA regular season title implications. IIRC, they were in a dead heat in the standings and the winner would be in the driver's seat. State won the game. I also remember him benching Milan Gajic for a weekend or two for falling behind in his classwork. And he's done that with other players as well. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Conspiracy... |
How about Washington's overturned touchdown late in the 4th quarter? Ruled a touchdown, video replay (IMO) was inconclusive. The camera was at an angle, not right on the goal line, so how the replay official can conclusively say the ball was at the 1/2 yard line instead of on the goal line is beyond me (it was close, though a half yard seems like a rather obvious gap). Then Washington couldn't score with like eight tries at the goal line and kicked a field goal, ND gets the ball back and drives to win. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Crappy finish... |
To an otherwise outstanding come back. We really had no business being in this game after how terrible we were the first three quarters, but Tate is gold in the 4th quarter. The INT in overtime sucked, but it was a great diving grab by the MSU player in the end zone. Regardless of the finish, Tate is the man. I just wish we could have seen that intensity and urgency out of the team the other three quarters. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Stonum! |
Just made up for that fumble with that TD catch. Four minutes left, down seven, come on defense! |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | And I'm all for... |
Denard Robinson seeing some playing time, but when you're down 14 points at the start of the 4th quarter, WTF are they thinking? Three and out and they lost 14 yards in the process. I don't think Tate has played bad...couple of dropped passes and he's been getting pressured...and Tate has also been strong in the 4th quarter. Down 14, you need to drive the field and put some points up, but you put in Denard, who is pretty much a runner? I'm not following some of the decisions the coaches are making today, but maybe that's just me. Michigan just recovered a fumble, started to drive (with Tate), and now Stonum loses a fumble. Friggin' A, man... |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Ugh... |
4th and inches on the MSU 17 and they try a fake punt? If you're gonna go for it, GO FOR IT. Just QB sneak with Tate. That was terrible. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | I'd be happy... |
If we could stop a friggin' third down. 3rd and 17, 3rd and 8, 3rd and whatever, MSU just keeps converting them. It's killing us. And just as I finished typing that, Roh hits Cousins and Warren gets an INT! |
| 3 years 34 weeks ago | I'm assuming... |
You don't clap for TDs at Lions games because all the TDs are scored by the opposing team. |
| 3 years 35 weeks ago | What's dumber is... |
Rothstein's headline... "Whether it was a punch or not, Michigan linebacker Jonas Mouton should sit against Eastern Michigan" Does that even make sense? So *if* it's *not* a punch, Mouton should sit anyway? Huh?! I think it's more of a love tap than a punch. When I think punch I think of what LeGarrette Blount did. What Mouton did pales in comparison. Not saying I condone it, though I don't know what Mouton's intent was (unlike that Wisconsin player who tried to twist Breaston's ankle and he got nothing but "internal discipline"). *If* he intended to do it, it was cheap, but in games between rivals where emotions and chippiness run high, we've all see much worse than that either get nothing or just a personal foul. I think if a ref saw it, it'd be a 15 yard penalty and nothing more. But benching him because no foul was called during the game? Eh...no. |
