Coaches Poll: Oregon alls all the way to 13, makes space for Michigan to move up to 11

Herm Edwards and Arizona St pull off the huge upset of Oregon. It was a legitimate win, not a fluke. Herm Edwards is making real change for the good.

Oregon takes a big fall all the way to #13 from their showing.

Penn St ranked one space lower than Michigan. But then, other than 2 turnovers which lead to quick score, they didn't have a very good showing yesterday.

There's a couple things I would have changed. And I think I would have added some things about the Wisconsin vs Minnesota game. But I will probably make as post about the game later this week. There's a lot riding on it. Not really for Michigan though.

Florida's resume consists of:

  1. Losing soundly to LSU
  2. Turtling against Georgia before attempting an ill-fated fourth quarter comeback
  3. Beating Auburn (whose resume begins and ends with its week 1 win against Oregon in the Jerry Dome)

Michigan's best win is clearly better than Florida's, and I would even call Iowa-Auburn a toss-up.

Hot take: We should be above Oregon, Baylor, but below Penn State and Wisconsin.

H2H does matter in my mind. I know Wisconsin lost to Illinois, but they’ve lost twice and we’ve lost twice.

Wisconsin I can see, but we were a dropped pass away from OT against PSU, on the road.  I don't think that game is evidence of their superiority.  That suggests that the two teams were comparable.

The edge to Michigan goes for the fact that both teams just played Indiana in the last two weeks, and PSU beat them by seven at home while we beat them by 25 on the road.

Giving up 400 yards passing to a true freshman is a sure fire way to let everyone know you're a fraud. Oregon might've submarined Utah's playoff hopes too last night
