Coaches Poll, Michigan Field Hockey in at #1
For the 1st time in program history, the Michigan Field Hockey team is ranked #1 in the country.
One of their wins this season was over North Carolina, the school that beat Michigan in OT for the national championship in 2020.
Keep it up Ladies!!!
Have fun and keep building the program!!!
GO BLUE!!!

I think we are a women's gymnastics school. After all, we did win the national championship last year.

The title surprised me. I mean, they did win the nat’l championship in 2001. So this feels like a technicality.
I take it that NCAA field hockey doesn’t have a formal after-the-season re-rank(?), or at least not in 2001.

Agreed, I was shocked to find this program as #1 for the 1st time ever. NC in 2001, and lots of B10 titles and trips to the NCAAs.
Planning on taking my daughter to the game in Ithaca next Sat.

Don’t worry, we will find a way. Give it a few minutes.

Yes but this is the coaches poll... we need a completely separate thread still for the writer's poll -- which is gonna say the same thing.

That is exciting. Knowing nothing about this sport, would love an mgoblog article on the subject. Where is the suggestion box?

Go Blue!
Nice to see us having success in sports we're typically considered out of region for, hopefully this will help build further recruiting momentum to keep the success going.
