Classic Paterno line re: RR
I thought this line from Paterno was pretty classic and says alot about all the garbage RR has gotten from the media:
"Well, depends," Paterno said in his weekly press conference. "If I could have gotten rid of some of the guys out there, I might have - in the press I might - I thought they were pretty tough on Rich (Rodriguez) last year, but that's beside the point."
Nice to see from a blue haired, outsider perspective.

His referee/breakfast analogy about the eggs and the pig being committed is pure gold.

JoePa's a funny guy. IIRC at Big 10 press day in summer of 2008, he was talking about how when PSU played WVU in the mid-80s, he was amazed at how pretty Rich Rod's wife looked as a cheerleader on the sideline.

This man has a seriously amazing memory. He might be making this particular story up (re: Rita), but wow does he ever remember obscure details amazingly well.

RR's press conference this week more or less confirmed this story. Rita was a cheerleader at WVU and Paterno (who was a big deal in the 1980s) was the most famous person she had ever met at that point and she walked up to him before the game and asked him to take a picture with her and some other WVU cheerleaders "in the interest of good sportsmanship". JoePa obliged and Rita apparently carried that picture around with her for several years. RR, Rita and JoePa have reminisced about this first exchange over the years.
Nice little story.
