CFB Risk Day 44 (Final Turn) - Don't Just Win....Break Their Will to Compete
CliffsNotes Instructions
(1) If you want an order aligned with Michigan’s current battle plan before you attack/defend, go to Michigan Risk Central Command. You'll (usually) get a few options to choose from.
(2) If you insist on doing your own thing, head over to CFB Risk and attack Ohio State in the southwest, Mexico, or the Caribbean based on your favorite C.J. Stroud L:
- Southwest: Everybody had the flu, but he doesn't "make excuses"
- Mexico: Desperation heave right to Upshaw (only INT in 4-year Michigan career) to end comeback effort
- Caribbean: Desmond Howard protects C.J. from Hutchinson on the Heisman stage
It's Time to Smash Some Buckeyes
We are in a great position to win CFB Risk. We have 87 territories and touch almost every territory on the map going into the last roll. Also, it looks like OSU bet it all on the Sunbelt region last night, but came up two territories short (good RNG!). Without that boost, they will have to get very lucky to pull out a win. It's not impossible (see v2), but it's improbable.
But I'm not content with just winning. I want to embarrass them. I WANT TO CRUSH THEM.
A lot of y'all played last night, and we continue to have by far the largest player base in the game. But we know there are more Wolverines out there able to play, because we had over 200 MORE players on Friday night (1,352) than Saturday night (1,132).
If you are one of our teammates who played once or twice but then forgot about it, no worries. But PLEASE put in a move today or tomorrow. It's the VERY LAST ROLL, and it'll take 10 seconds to be part of the effort to punch the Bucknuts in the face once last time.
We saw our storied hockey program rout the Bucknuts last night....let's give them a similar treatment in Risk.
Go Blue and Let's Beat the Everloving Sh*t out of OSU!

This is a great opportunity to hear from the woman who has led us to this enviable position. Be sure to tune in.
I clicked on this Twitch link. It's just some dude slammin' weights in his garage. Who on the internet do I speak to regarding getting a refund for that click?
Send Frontier Airlines an email.
Win with character, win with cruelty.

OSU recruited a crap ton (500+) players on the final day the last time we played CFB Risk. According to some, they have the best recruiter in the business. It's a simple sales pitch to your friends and family - "play this silly game just this one time". Go Blue!
Whatta ya know? Buckeyes crumble when hit with a hammer. Just like in the 4th quarter.
Except ice hockey buckeyes. They crumble in the first 10 minutes.
Right off the bat, have to give credit where it's due. Thanks to the game creators for putting in the work they did, and to our Commanders and ECE for the great results and turnout. A largely thankless task, but they've done a fantastic job. You deserve the highest of fives, all around.
As far as game tweaks going forward, I'd actually like to see better turnout from smaller teams. If CFB Risk turns into nothing but the largest 2 teams running away with it all the time, then people will stop playing, so I think it could be beneficial if teams had something like a home base that was more difficult to take with tougher odds, so smaller schools could stay in it longer.
The regions need a bit of tweaking still, they were rarely achieved, and didn't last long. We have half the map but no regions right now, for example. This round it felt like every team was team chaos, in a way, so maybe fewer bridges, or adjacent territory bonuses, to keep it a little tighter like table risk. Can't have the entire map flipping every turn, even though it did make it interesting.
Overall I loved the changes they put in this year, and I can't wait for the next one.
Cheers!

This is something that I am also curious about, and hopeful that the developers have some ideas about how to increase engagement for the longevity of the idea. As fun as it is to be on one of the big (and most likely this time winning) teams, the game would be a lot more interesting if there weren't only 2 real Tier 1, and 4-5 more Tier 2 teams that have any shot at being a factor.
That could be said for cfb in general.
I have no sympathy for the smaller teams, we’re talking about several hundred to a thousand people necessary to be a power. It’s not that tough.
I thought Sunday nights there was no roll. Is that true or is tonight gonna finish it all off?
You’re correct, XM. No roll tonight but orders are available and you can make your play today so you don’t have to worry about it on Monday.
I played, followed orders - no clue as to wtf is going on as this has very little similarity to RISK the board game. Perhaps a side by side of the night before and the day that was to show what was gained and what was lost.
I will show up but anything that can be done to simplify results is appreciated.
If you click "Latest" in the top middle, you can see what the map looked like on any turn over all 3 seasons. They are labeled "Season/Turn." So last turn is "3/43"
If we capture Starkville, Tuscaloosa, and Tallahassee we will have captured every single territory on the map during the course of the entire game. Wouldn't hurt to attack one of those if you can't decide where to go.
Oops double post
Hang a hundred (territories) on them.
When we were losing, I was critical of MgoRisk leadership, so I need to make amends now. Good job staying positive and with the overall recruiting effort. Great job with the second-half strategic domination, much like our beloved football team did this past season. Go Blue!
last roll, wolverines
Just like football.
Fuck ‘em up!
Fantastic job with these posts, ECE. Kudos to leadership and the game Devs/Mods. It was a lot of fun. I'd play again in June/July when the news and sports world is sooooo slow (hint hint). Love the memes and busting up the "Death Star". Sadly the "Fair" is coming to a close.
