CFB Risk Day 43 (2 Turns Left) - Now THAT's More Like It!

CliffsNotes Instructions

(1) If you want an order aligned with Michigan’s current battle plan before you attack/defend, go to Michigan Risk Central Command. You'll (usually) get a few options to choose from.

(2) If you insist on doing your own thing, head over to CFB Risk and attack Ohio State to prevent them from winning regions for the last roll. You can base where you attack on your favorite recent Game score.

  • 42 - 27: Attack OSU in the North or East
  • 45 - 23: Attack OSU in the South or West

I've Been Everywhere

After last night, Michigan has Johnny Cash vibes. We finally got a favorable roll and as a result we own or neighbor almost every territory on the map. In fact, the only two territories we don't border are Redwood and Eugene in NoCal / Oregon.

This is awesome because the more territories we touch, the more territories we can theoretically win. The only way we could be better positioned is if tonight was the last roll.

Unfortunately, we still have two more rolls to go, and so we need to keep the pressure on. We had record turnout last night (1,352), and we need to keep it going if we're going to pull out the win.

Be Like Michigan Hockey - Minimize RNG to Beat OSU

Hockey is a lot like Risk. The puck can bounce in weird and random ways and end up in the goal for no reason other than good / bad luck. The best way to ensure victory with superior talent is to minimize the impact of that randomness through control and discipline.

Tonight, Michigan has the better hockey team, and as long as they execute properly, they should beat the Buckeyes.

We also have a superior Risk team. We have by far the most players, as well as the most unadjusted stars. But one night of poor discipline (i.e. not putting in our moves) could be our undoing and allow OSU to win. If, on the other hand, we continue to put on the pressure, the chances of us winning after the next roll go way up.

It's all in our hands. We have an enviable amount of control over our own fate, but each of us needs to make just two more moves to finish this game out. Just two.

Let's channel Michigan hockey and leave it all out there against the Bucknuts.

Go Blue and F*ck OSU! On the ice AND the map!

If you haven't shared our recruiting poster with at least two of your friends, today is the day for you to join our team of recruiters. If you look South of Ann Arbor, you'll find an Easter egg in this one. Go Blue!

ECE, thanks for your leadership, commitment, and great humor that has made this such an enjoyable experience for so many of us. I only played this game because of you, and I have had fun keeping an eye on things. The most fun has been reading your witty posts nearly every day.

I can't see your pic, but I'll say one thing...

I'm a terrible strategist. Credit goes to people on Discord like Krrrsten, Vegetables, Meteroite, Kewaga, and a few others for getting us back on track. We even have some math guys to optimize everything.

Our Generals deserve a world of credit. And I thank them for letting me do what I do best, and that's writing.

I too started partway through this season and got a couple of MVPs in 34 turns after the Discord site switched to the orders website. On the Discord site, I sometimes tried to choose smaller star events to increase the chances of getting my first MVP, but I think that the more spread out strategy with fewer players involved in each territory helps make it easier.  In the end, it still comes down to luck.  The Texas AM strategy document mentioned giving orders to certain players to increase their MVP chances and star power, but I am not sure if the Michigan orders site is worrying about that.
