Certainly helps B1G to have NCAA tourney entirely in Indiana
They mention Butler and Purdue but I wonder if Bloomington also will host.

My bad, I did not see that they also listed Assembly Hall as well. In a year that we should see a record number of B1G teams in the tourney, the conference also will account for 2 of the 5 host sites.

Tentative sites:
- Bankers Life Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers
- Hinkle Fieldhouse, home of Butler
- Indiana Farmers Coliseum, home of IUPUI
- Mackey Arena, home of Purdue
- Assembly Hall, home of Indiana
- Lucas Oil Stadium (two courts), home of the Indianapolis Colts

Bankers Life, IUPUI, and Marian University are all very near the Circle with Hinkle being just several miles north. There are thousands of hotel rooms right there as well. I cannot imagine spectators will be allowed in numbers-Mackey and Assembly Hall won't be necessary unless they wish to expand to 8 sites for the first WE...there are other small colleges/universities within a hour.

Why, they will allow family, at the most.

Makes a big difference to have a short trip and be in a familiar hotel, time zone, and arena for your games.

Familiar hotel feels like an oxymoron.

Well let's leave it at familiar routine of traveling to West Lafayette or Bloomington for a basketball game.

No, I get what you were saying to begin with. As someone who doesn’t travel much the thought of a familiar hotel is a foreign idea to me.

Indiana is one of the most stubbornly idiotic anti-mask states in the country. Great idea, NCAA. What could possibly go wrong?

I just got back from down there and not a mask in sight . I agree

Well, they're probably not going to mingle much with the general population.
The NBA had its bubble in Florida at the height of their summer wave. I think it's less about where you are and more about what you do.

Fans and bars, LFG

Do we think they’ll allow fans at all? As a healthcare worker I’ve been vaccinated and will get my second shot this month. If Michigan made it to the sweet 16 or final four it would be fun to go when there are so few people there. Guess we’ll find out...
