Jim is certain to cost any NFL team a lot of money. My guess is the Chicago ownership doesn't want to spend that kind of money. And Jim would break that Cutler kid very quickly! I remember when the million dollar arm with the the 5 cent head told Denver fans that he was a better quarterback than John Elway! I almost wet myself laughing at that one! I think the guy that the Chicago Bears will go after is Mike Shanahan (The Mastermind). Also the guy who drafted Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall to the Denver Broncos as rookies. He's a perfect fit for their style of blocking/running game. But Cutler needs protection from a good OL-otherwise he just throws it away carelessly. He needs a good teacher-Shanahan was Elway's QB coach first. Shanahan loves total control and would fit right in to the HC/GM scenario with his son Kyle as the OC. Shanahan is a Chicago guy originally-so what could be more natural. What a project for the Mastermind-resurrect the ailing Chicago Bears. Make them the monsters of the midway again. But all this assumes that the Bears ownership is smart about hiring people - and that is a big question mark!

Completely disregarding Harbaugh, I get why they want to fire Trestman. The defense sucks and Cutler isn't worth a fraction of what his contract says he is, but is two years really enough time for a coach?

I wonder how much the NFL's win now mentality really hurts teams. I've never been a Cutler fan, but I think he's been through a decent amount of offensive coordinators over the last 3-4 years, so it's somewhat understandable that his production isn't that good. I'm not saying don't fire Trestman, but if he does indeed get the pink slip, I wonder if he even had enough time to implement everything he needed. Two years just isn't a lot of time in the NFL.

Anyone that thinks Chicago isn't the biggest threat is fooling themselves. Does anyone remember the 49ers before Jim Harbuagh --> DESOLATE.

Chicago offers a fantastic city, a core group of talent, history with Harbaugh, rich tradition --and I am a diehard Lions fan!
