Dang. Forgot all about this dude.
I remember having high hopes for him, way back when. Then he was gone before he ever "arrived".
Amazing how many situations like that you see as a College Football fan.

Wishing him luck.

He shares the same name as my brother, a long-time fan and season ticket holder. We had high hopes for him being a star on the team so we could get his jersey.
Side note, wasn't he always a DB/Safety? I know he was also a receiver as a recruit but I think Michigan always had him in the defensive backfield.

He played 3 games as a frosh at UM as a WR and on special teams. Really, just one at WR against Utah where he caught a pass. He fell down the depth chart after that and started practicing with the defense before the bowl game against Florida. Seems like a move to DB was in the cards before he was removed from the team.
He started playing DB at EMCC and played DB there and at Miss State.

He met a much kinder fate after CC and cameo appearances on Last Chance U compared to Kingston Davis.
I hope he latches on somewhere, even if it's a practice squad slot

Kingston Davis attended UAB, not FAU. Last I heard was that we was arrested in 2018. I also don't think he transitioned to CB - he was like a 245 lb RB. We can't be talking about the same person.

m1817 is mistaken. He posted the picture and information about John Franklin III, not Kingston Davis.

I dont know how you managed to do this, but I found the article you took that from, and that is not Kingston Davis whatsoever.
You used part of the blurb about John Franklin III from season 1, along with his picture.
"John Franklin III, QB
EMCC’s backup QB in Season 1, John Franklin used his incredible showing in the last game of the 2015 season (accounting for 291 yards and six touchdowns) to land a spot on Auburn’s roster. He was less than impactful for the Tigers, however, completing 14 of 26 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 430 yards and two scores. Franklin transferred to FAU for 2017, completing 1 of 2 passes for 49 yards and rushing 229 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately for Franklin, he may be best remembered in Boca Raton for dropping the ball before crossing the goal line after a long run. He went undrafted out of FAU but has since transitioned to defensive back with the NFL's Chicago Bears. He's on the Buccaneers' roster as a cornerback in 2020."

Wasn’t he the #1 recruit from the state that year. And we got him. Take that state

Wish him the best. I remember being excited about him. He was the top recruit in an otherwise meh class of 2015. But, he was another overrated HS recruit that never lived up to his billing.
