Carl Hagelin finally has to retire. He had a horrific eye injury in practice that he just couldn't overcome.

Four-year skater at UM, super-long NHL career, has his name twice on Stanley. Congrats on an amazing career.

16 points during the 2015-16 playoffs probably the highlight of his pro career.
The tying and winning goals against Western are probably the Michigan highlight for me.

I recall going on a hockey message board and one WMU fan posted, we played well but had no answer for that guy.

Fuck yeah, Carl. You have left nothing to prove to anyone. Go into your retirement and do what makes you happy.

On par with Wayne Gretzky in my book.

Man, I LOVED Hags and being a huge Rangers fan, nothing better than they drafting him. He was a part of a special few years for us and was a massive piece of those teams.
So happy to see him lifting the Cup twice, even if it was with the Penguins.

Carl forever has a place in my heart for when he saved Senior Night. Cheers to a great career.
