Camp worked by Harbaugh raises $101K for brain tumor research
From College Football Talk on NBC Sports;
From the article;
"This weekend, though, this newest recruiting phenomenon resulted in something good. Something very, very good."
"Kudos to Harbaugh, and all of the coaches involved, for using a football event such as this to raise money for a cause far more important than sports."
This just keeps gettin' better and better......
I am sure the ess eee see coaches are trying to figure how they can spin this as an NCAA violation.
Leaders and Best!
this has been going on for years and has been billed as the largest one day football camp in the counrty. Michigan simply said they would participate this year and I'm sure Harbaugh's name helped. There were hundreds of coaches from all over who participated and Urban Meyer is the featured coach at the second part of this camp in Ohio next weekend.
I'm all for giving Harbaugh credit but he didn't start this. It is similar to Sound Mind Sound Body and has been around for years. Rutgers is one school that has participated for years.
Thanks for adding this BlueCube.
I was aware that this camp has been taking place for years, along with the fundraising efforts by others as well.
Just thought I would send along the article and the positive messages from it.
early seemed to be "Harbaugh" and as I mentioned even though I haven't seen a comparison with prior years, my guess would be Harbaugh brought tremendous attention to the event. It's a disservice to those who came before (including John Harbaugh who is on the honorary board of directors to act if Harbaugh did it on his own.
The biggest surprise to me is that Franklin and Penn State are not more involved with it because O'Brien is also on the honorary board of directors.
So what I'm hearing you say is that Nick Saban and the rest of the SEC hate charity and want people to die from cancer.
Bastards.
