Notes: I looks like Cabana and others are redshirting, rumor is Hibner is redshirting and planning to transfer after the season (when the portal opens), word is that the plan for Rolder is to play in 4 regular season games and get his redshirt (and then play in the CFP because they don't count towards your 4)...his first game was against MSU. It looks like other "non-true freshman" are on the 4 game + CFP plan as well.

Yeah there’s multiple games now where Denegal made the travel roster and has been the 3rd QB in while Davis made no appearance. So we’re either seeing Denegal as QB3, Davis has an injury that isn’t being disclosed on the injury report, or it’s a disciplinary issue. I haven’t paid attention to whether he’s been on the field warming up at home games or not.

...and honestly, if McCarthy went down tomorrow, I would like Denegal to be given as much a chance as any other backup.  MSU is another case where he performed perfectly, hitting both passes which unfortunate for him were called for plays short of the first down marker.  There is a legitimate argument that he has been the second best quarterback this year.

The 2024 defense has the potential to be like the 2021 Georgia defense. I'm pretty sure they return most everyone on that side of the ball and they already give up 5 points per game this year.

Is spring game phenom Peyton O'Leary injured?  I haven't seen him play a single regular season snap.

And what about Nikhai Hill-Green?  That name has become a distant memory.

I see a lot of getting late early on here. O line guys I don't worry about, but I wonder if they have half a dozen spots yet for recruiting based on down-transfer expectations.

I know some guys take a while to develop, but usually you see them play here and there.

This year has been an odd one for me when thinking about all the studs we have on our roster and thinking back and having gaps of time where it seems we haven't heard a lot about specific players.  Through the first several games, I barely even noticed Barrett, Wallace, and even Jenkins.  I know depth and all, but it is amazing how many play makers we have on defense.  Then we will have games where these guys and others shine, and my thought is there's Barrett or there's Jenkins or I think this Wallace guy is going to be just fine.  My theory is each team comes into a game with a gameplan where they have scouted certain players or position groups and make the decision that they are not going to allow that individual or individuals beat them.  So naturally what happens with this team is our other playmakers dominate.  The next game a different gameplan is initiated that allows another group of playmakers to dominate because this particular team has decided their individual or individuals that they are not going to allow to beat them.  This creates games where we don't even hear about Johnson, Harrell, McGreggor, Wallace, Barrett and the list could go on.  I am not sure I have made any sense above, but has anyone else thought this where you just haven't heard one of our defensive players names mentioned much for a game or more stretch?  This has brought so much parity to our team and I hope is just setting us up to out play the final four teams by winning in the trenches due to the amount of rest all of our players have had.  Go Blue!

If someone with Jyaire Hill's profile and accolades is truly 6th on the depth chart at CB (and maybe he really is), that makes me rather optimistic about Michigan's future at CB.

And speaking of the future, I have to wonder if every analyst's take so far on Harbaugh's likely response to NCAA fuckery could potentially be ass backwards.  It wouldn't surprise me if somebody like Harbaugh decided to dig in his heels and stay -- and see if he can outlast the bastards.

Is it good or bad that DJ Waller has gotten so much run so far? He seemed like a flyer to most people in this class and has already burned his redshirt. I haven't really paid much attention to him when he's in, but it seems like he could be playable even next year maybe?

Several really really good position groups on the team: DL, RB, OL but my gosh what Barner, Loveland and Bredeson are doing it would be hard not to argue the TE isn't the most productive position group on the team. Solid blocking and two massive targets down the field such an outlet for a QB who loves to get off schedule and free wheel it!
