BTN Commentating

Submitted by antoo on
So I'm still trying to calm down since the end of the game but one thing I can't get out of my mind is how bad the commentating and BTN are. How many plays did us viewers miss over the past couple games on the BTN due to terrible timing while coming back from commercial breaks or doing a close up shot of player on the sidelines (and sometimes they end up showing the wrong player). Not only do they have a hard time saying WoolFOLK and Ezeh but some of the shit coming out of their mouths today drove crazy. What takes the cake is when the play by play guy said something along the lines of "Cousins has literally been killing the defense with his runs". Really? Literally killing them? Did we field a team of zombies by the end of the game because I didn't see any dead players lying around. Anyone else getting irritated by this?

How about they couldn't even figure out the difference between Michigan and Michigan State?! I could count on both hands the number of times during the game that the announcers mixed up the two teams. A blind, one-armed monkey with a stab-wound could do a better job commentating than these bozos!

Yeah I always hate when the game is on BTN. They're pretty bad at what they do and I find myself muting the t.v. at times so I don't have to listen to them. Even though I sometimes enjoy counting how many times a game I get to say "what the fuck are the announcers talking about."

Larivee seems like he's kinda losing it. And lead singer of Coldplay doesn't add much of anything to the broadcast. And this should be a fun one for Brian to UFR with all the goofy closeups and odd angles and such. Can't they just show us the damn game the way everyone wants to see it?

Even worse that Comcast in chicago had the game on one of their spillover stations, which are not available in HD. The literally line had me going grammar nazi as well.

Better than getting Pam Ward to announce the game. I thought they were pretty bland, but I wasn't annoyed by them. Maybe 'cuz I was at a bar and not really listening to them that closely.

At one point, Sparty got a penalty, moving them back to 1st and 20, and then ran for about 7-8 yards. Laribee then said "And that will bring them close to a first down." Grump grump.

I was going to start a thread on the same topic. If there's a worse sports network of any kind in the world, I would really like to know what it is. This is the third season these clowns have been in business, and they're worse than I've ever seen. Two examples of today's piss-poor work by the BTN: 1. MSU 1st and 10. Cousins dropped for a 4-yd loss. BTN call: 2nd Down and 4. 2. MSU 2nd and 19. Pass play for 9-yd gain. BTN call: 1st Down. I can't stand Musburger, but at least the man knows down-and-distance. Every time I'm forced to watch a game on BTN, its like seeing Open Mike Night at Mark Ridley's. Come to think of it, that might be how BTN got its commentators. The only thing these clowns seem to have gotten right is Charissa Thompson. If I were her, I'd seriously consider finding a job opening elsewhere.

I was annoyed by how many times they called each other partner. It seemed like every time they referred to one another, it wasn't by their names or anything else, always partner. And there is no way I would rather listen to Pam Ward, she gives me the shivers.

spew from my mouth when M is on btn, the announcers couldn't get jobs on the game show network, the camera shots on some plays are horrid, one guy makes a tackle and they do a close up on another player for waaaaayyyyyyy to long, the close ups of players shoe's, socks and legs are not needed, the announcer and yard and down poster guy need to get on the same page. Also simple math, 11-4=7 that is not close to a first down. DAMN YOU BTN FOR RUINING COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

I'm watching Huskies at ND, the long breaks and long half time means this game will go 4+ hours (yawn). And, they show no scores or ticker info, its like you're locked in solitary confinement with Tom Hammond's voice blaring. I do have to say, Pat Hayden seems more balanced when your team is not the opponent.
