On BTN: '69 M-OSU game

Submitted by Bleedin9Blue on

For anyone that wants to relive one of the most important games in Michigan history, the 1969 M-OSU game is on the BTN right now.  For even more reason to watch, lots of Bo and no Melanie Collins tweeting.

I knew that this classic would be on. They aired it the before the Michigan Practice last year too. Hopefully the BTN coverage of the practice doesn't suck and they don't talk about shoelaces and who is wearing shoes as I remember from last year.

I taped this game off of ESPN Classic in 1998.  That's the version I uploaded to my account.

We intercepted the bucks 6 times in this game but on my tape, only 3 of the interceptions were shown.

One of the most striking things about that game is the pace from breaking the huddle till the ball is snapped.  Not much reading the defense and adjusting, it's nearly all "Here we come, try and stop us."  Of course some of this is the number of option plays called and run.  But a lot of it is a simpler playbook and an emphasis on execution.

The game has changed.

Love watching this game every time it's on. We need a big momentum changing win like that sometime soon. But heck, I'd just take bowl eligibility right now.
