I will probably check them out next time they're in town to cheer him on. Do you have a link?

really didn't have any details, just that he got 2nd place in a college dunk contest and played for 2 years in NBA-D

They've gotta be one of the most underrated team in basketball. By the end of this year, they're gonna be called...

Man...he could jump out the building....but his offensive game was just not good at all. Good luck to him...loved watchin hammer down some massive alley-oops while at M

You've got it backwards. Petway was essentially useless on the defensive end of the court, aside from using his wingspan to block the occasional shot.
And I say that as a guy who owns an Air Georgia t-shirt purchased out of a garbage bag outside Crisler one night in 2005.

this makes way way too much sense. Petway should have been a globetrotter from birth.

I just put serious money on Washington to make a run for the championship this year. They're due!

who breaks through next? The Lions? The Cubs?
OK. I've calmed down. The Generals have a much better chance of winning a title than the Lions.

This is a great idea. Petway is has the ultimate Globetrotter game.

The rookie class is led by 6-8 dunking phenom Brent “Thunder” Petway of the University of Michigan, selected in the Globetrotters’ first ever draft in 2007. Petway, a native of McDonough, Ga., was a second place finisher in the 2007 college Slam Dunk Championship and played two seasons in the NBA Development League. Sporting a 42-inch vertical leap, Petway was the Wolverine’s second-leading rebounder and shot blocker as a senior, and more than half of his career field goals at Michigan were via dunks.
Let's give it up for Brent "Thunder" Petway!!!

...more than half of his career field goals at Michigan were via dunks.
How is that even possible? That is amazing.
What an excellent fit for him!

How do the generals let him slip? Who does their drafting, Matt Millen?

...online in poker one night, or at least somebody who had me convinced he was Petway. It was the night before a road game at Iowa and we were playing at a 9 person cash table. He questioned my avatar(which was a photo of one of Antonio Bass' rare appearances on the field for M) and we got to chatting. After a bit I asked if he was "Air Georgia" in some way to not let the others know what I was talking about. He was cool. We helped each other win about $50-100 each and talked some hoops. He was convinced my avatar was Braylon. Also, no idea how much money was in his poker account because you can choose how much to show at the table, he played with about $250 I think. I had tix for the home OSU game a few nights later and he told me to get there early for a pre-game dunk display which never happened.
I was convinced that Antonio Bass, if he could ever get healthy, was going to be a Denard Robinson-type player...

Showed up at a party I was helping host. Real nice guy, down to earth, just was there to be social, wasn't skeezy, didnt search for booze, just was having a good time
Hope he does well with the Globetrotters!

I am very happy for Petway. He was always more of a sideshow than a complete basketball player anyway. He played as hard as anyone, but his talents didn't translate to being dominant in major college basketball.
Petway has a lot of charisma and I am glad to see him have an avenue on which to continue the "Air Georga" show. The Globetrotters just became someone I really want to watch again.
