Weren't BC and Rutgers (where his brother is) both going after him? I would assume he goes to Rutgers, but maybe he'll stay. That's the nature of a Power 5 program. Your assistants are usually up-and-comers who leave after a year or two.

You have to think that if Michigan's offense continues to improve and is solid next year, that Gattis will be getting some calls for a HC position.

I thought it was announced that he was leaving, or am I just going by rumors? So he was a possibility to leave, but it wasn't a sure thing. I would rather be a paid analyst at UM than coach anything at Rutgers. No way you can improve your resume there.

Yeah but it would be miserable getting your teeth kicked in every week and trying to keep the players motivated after 'another' losing streak or blowout loss.

Plus not sure if I'd want 'an almost certain to fail' gig in my hometown/state. It would suck to have that kind of added pressure.

Would like to keep him around as LB's looked good this year and keeping those NJ ties can pay off with Partridge gone, but if he leaves, it might make more flexibility in replacing both guys rather than just one in terms of who can coach what. Need to nail an ace recruiter in one of the two hires if he moves on.

Sam is teasing some “interesting developments” for the staff. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out. JH has done well with his hires so I’m sure he has a list of candidates in case of more departures this year.

We can not have another philosophical shift!  Kids can’t be told to learn a new playbook every year.  They need repetition so muscle memory kicks in during games.

Sorry for the “get off my lawn” tone.  We need to excel at our approach to the point where the other team knows it’s coming and they can’t stop us.

If Schiano is truly offering him the DC job, he is gone.... Schiano will do even better at Rutgers this time around and Campanile will try to tag along.

I don't see it happening either. On the one hand he was able to win at Rutgers before; on the other hand the stories I've read about him don't make him look like the kind of guy I'd want my kids to play for, and I don't think that's going to help him.

We'll see how well he's able to recruit.
