Basketball highlights

For those who are wondering, the basketball team looked pretty good last night considering the turmoil the team had in the off season with personnel changes. Chemistry seems to be present. IF last night’s  performance is any indication of things to come, we could be in for a pleasant surprise as the season progresses. I have cued the video to an awesome set of moves by Dug last night. He could be the key catalyst the team needs.

Dug is nasty. Olivier is a thiccccccc boy. Everyone hustles. Cheddar is 100% on the season. The defense is a swath of long arms. This team could be elite with Llewellyn back. Excited to see the season unfold

An amazing stat I heard last night is that Will-T through two games has more 3s this season (6) than all of last season (5).

I've been really excited to see this team play. Due to the roster turnover and I think sometimes we underestimate how much a player can improve in an off season. I always enjoy seasons more when just winning is enough without crazy expectations. As opposed to a season that even wins are picked apart. I understand analysis and critique is part of it, sometimes it's almost to the point of feeling like a loss. I know that comes along the more they win. I'll just enjoy it while I it lasts.

Every year there are teams that seemingly come out of nowhere and play excellent team ball. Most of the time there aren’t any superstars that anyone can point to as the reason, it’s simply chemistry in the locker room and everyone on the team pushing everyone else to play great. This seems like one of those teams so far.

Fans typically want to see the dominating superstar(s) come in and expect that will make their team great. Sometimes that happens, most of the time it doesn’t. Last year it certainly didn’t. But you don’t need superstars to make a great team.

The only area of concern would be when Dug has to sit because of rest or fouls. That’s when you need depth and right now the team doesn’t have it, offensively, at the pg position. Unless nimura steps up or until llewellyn comes back. We’ll see how things play out. At least there seems to be quality depth at the other positions and many of those guys can create shots on their own if needed. This is going to be a fun season I think.

People who crapped on Juwan were idiots. But even I, a decades-long follower and admitted homer, could not have believed that this team might look like it has such (apparent) depth.

Imagine what Tshetter's going to look like--play like--as a (RS) junior and senior. He's already leaving bodies on the floor when he sets picks.
