Baseball Team Crazy Travel Schedule
I suggest reading the entire piece.
“The Wolverines have been in Michigan for only five nights in the five weeks. They have been in Nebraska so often – at least part of 23 of the past 38 days -- they could vote for governor. They have traveled 8,500 miles in a quest for a chance that few thought they would ever find. Friday, they crushed Texas Tech 15-3 in a game that took four hours to play, beneath the summer sun of the Midwest. There has been nothing short or quick about their journey.”
It's definitely a long tournament. The Michigan fans in the stands at every stop surely have helped the guys.
They’re not likely pounding the brews. They know they are in Omaha.
Nice triple post. Username doesn't check out.
You can say that again! Traveling for work sucks.
I started traveling for work in my late 20's, and did it for ~15 years, or so. Back then, it was kinda cool, and fun to see different cities. I wouldn't give back that time. But I was over it the moment my kid was born. I've only travelled a couple of times in the last 8 years, and I don't foresee a lot in the near future, either. Fortunately, I was able to stop traveling and maintain my standing.
Really long time to stay in a hotel in Nebraska, but I'm sure they are enjoying it. I wonder what non-baseball activities they are doing as a team
Bakich has them giving back in the local community.
Great! Thanks for posting this.
But!!! You can’t have a FBS football tourney because it will effect the academics too much.
Before anyone tells me, “but it’s Summer!” I took a full load in my Summers and all of my classes were filled with players from the baseball, softball and football teams.
Come on - these guys will go straight to Summer leagues. Summer school for Winter- Fall sport students sure but not baseball, softball, track atheletes. I’m sure there are exceptions.
Love the journey.
Finish.
Go Blue.
I think the baseball team should vote in the Nebraska gubernatorial elections. Vote for me, Clarence Boddicker. That state could use a real crime syndicate.
This run made me a baseball fan again.
I've watched more innings of baseball in the past couple weeks than I have in probably 15 years combined.
It's been a helluva fun ride so far.
I'm with you!! I've been to a few games and watched some playoff games, but other than that, nothing. The last two weeks has reminded me how much fun baseball is, especially when its pressure packed. Also, my kid is playing little league now, so it's been fun getting back into it...
Whatever happens this team has kicked ass and made history. Would be nice to see them shock the world and win the whole damn thing.
Hell yeah, Ty. Great run. And they can absolutely win.
And on a personal note, hope you're doing better, and that it lasts a long time if you are.
Does anyone know if we are on the third base or first base side? Who is the home team? Just asking since I'm leaving Detroit Monday am. Thanks.
