Auburn Site Claims Derrick Green Is An Auburn Lean

That apparently makes a great deal of sense to them right now. A day after he says Michigan is leading and Coach Hoke is his favorite coach, he then says he knows where he is going. If that doesn't sound like an Auburn lean, I don't know what does. They obviously are in the Garrison Keillor school of "looking reality straight in the eye and denying it".

Well, Green's senior highlights are significantly more impressive than his junior highlights.  He shows better vision and balance.

That being said, I still don't really understand why he's ranked as the #1 running back.  The only way he actually performs like the #1 running back in this class is if he gets an outstanding offensive line, like the one at Alabama or the one Wisconsin has had for the last several years.  I still prefer someone like Keith Ford or Altee Tenpenny.

Green would be the best RB in Michigan's class if he commits, though.

I think he has an element of all those things, but being the #1 running back in the country is a pretty big deal.  I'm also not convinced that he catches the ball well, because when I saw him in person, he was TERRIBLE at it.  He may have improved or maybe he was just having the worst day of his life at catching the ball.

Besides, it's not necessarily about what he does but what other guys do.  I just like other guys more.  Just because I think he's maybe the #4 running back doesn't mean I think he's bad.

Comparing Green's film with Smith's, it looked to me like Smith was the better back, if for no other reason than his tackle-breaking skills.  I do understand, however, that the level of competition (I have no real idea who plays against better teams) they face may be a factor.

I'd be glad to have them both in maize and blue.

This is also the same source who stated Trey Johnson was going to recommit to Auburn. They kept that stance right up until he announced Ohio at the AA game. They were even tweeting it minutes before he committed to Ohio.

Hasn't even met the Auburn staff. To be fair he did say he is going to take an OV there to give the staff a fair chance. After the visit it would be fair to report him AB Auburn lean if things go well, but no way is he a lean when he had t met the staff, and he says he will commit where he feels most comfortable with the coach

Btw, in this week's edition of his column Mind Of Mike, Farrell thinks it will take "something special" to beat Michigan for Green. I would say he has the best relationship with Green out of any analyst and is very tuned into his recruitment.

on another blog site, including Auburn fans, and they say they still believe he is a UM lean. He is being heavily pursued by the new Auburn coaching staff but in their opinion the coaching turnover may be too much to overcome. Not sure what is going on with these Auburn fans referenced in the OP.

I may have found the source for these rumors:

"I am friends with 4 star OL UGA commit Brandon Kublano.  I saw him today at party where we watched the national championship.  I knew he was in the Army All-American All-Star game, so I asked him if he talked to Derrick Green at all.  He did, so I proceeded to ask him if he was going to Michigan or Auburn.  He told me Green was going to Auburn and I trust his word."

Color me skeptical.
