Attention Georgia Wolverines: Baseball is headed your way
For those in the Savannah, Georgia area, Michigan Baseball is headed your way this weekend.
After the Keith LeClair Classic in Greenville, NC was cancelled due to weather, news of a 3-game series featuring Michigan and Tennessee Tech leaked last night.
It has been confirmed. Michigan will face Tennessee Tech at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Georgia. Home of the Savannah Sand Gnats.
The Sand Gnats are the single A affiliate of the New York Mets, Fred Wilpon's team.
After this weekend series against TTU, Michigan will head down to their home-away-from-home in Port St. Lucie, Florida at Tradition Field, spring home to the Mets where Michigan has played a 4-game series every year for the last decade.

also known as sand flies or no-see-ums. Tiny black bugs that attack in swarms and bite voraciously. Hate those annyoing bloodsuckers.

I am in Savannah (along with Cazzie Russell http://savannahnow.com/sports/2015-01-23/nathan-dominitz-cazzie-russell-provides-lift-pirates-coach-players)
I will definitely be headed to Historic Grayson Stadium to root on the boys! When is this? Also, sand gnats are nasty, nasty little bugs. I am a part of Gnat Gnation.

I believe it is ping of the bats, in Ann Arbor at least.

With the new composite bats they use, it's now much less of a "ping" sound than it was in previous years. I know it was mostly to slow the ball's speed coming off the bats, but I almost wonder if half the reason they changed the bat regulations was just to get rid of the damn "ping."
