Are all Spartan fans insane or just RCMB members?

Seriously. I’ve never seen a group of people so wrapped up in contempt and full of conspiracy theories. They are desperately bumping the Simpson traffic incident trying to make it into the next big college athletics scandal. Even though they appear to have cornered the market on athlete scandals.

The doctor Anderson news appears to be tragic for the victims involved, yet they are gleefully discussing it hoping that it becomes like the Nassar story. According to them we live in a world where the University of Michigan controls the local media AND also ESPN. All the media outlets have a master plan to keep down MSU. Not sure why that would benefit anyone in the media but apparently it’s a cold hard indisputable fact.

I never cared for the Little Brother talk, but holy cow MSU fans act like the little kid that throws tantrums because everyone picks on them. Any Mgoblog stalking RCMBers want to offer any insight on all this?

Unlike here, the threads there go on for years at a time. Don’t believe me? Look at the UM rock bottom thread. The insecurity runs very deep there.

Our threads and interest with them last a few days tops and even then don’t manage 100+ comments unless it’s directly rivalry related.

Threads that go 180+ long here are more about dreading Michigan’s own football program than talking about anyone else lol.

What’s hilarious is that they think we have the Freep in our back pocket when they tried to bring the program down for a little extra stretching.

I was just learning today in class about the dangers of a perceived other and deeper conspiracies surrounding that. I think the RCMB really believes there is some sort of media conspiracy to hurt MSU and help UOFM. It really defies reason, but I’m pretty sure they buy into it. You can see both Trump and Sanders using this “other” to great success in current politics. It’s an idea that some outsider is against us.

Devils advocate here - our fanbase is bigger. Potentially reporting on this against the schools wishes (potentialy letting narrative get out of control) could lead to push back on access and stuff. idk. money is money and michigan dribves a lot of clicks to these dying papers.

Unfounded and ridiuclous, yes. but defying reason i'm not sure

I totally agree. And what makes it dangerous is these conspiracies can be based in truth. The red scare is what we focused on in class. And yes, there were some communists in the US. But it wasn’t like the congress and the FBI was half full of communist sympathizers like some wanted you to believe.

I will be kind and venture a guess that 95% of all fans qualify as not knowing a damn thing about the game they are losing their minds over. Otherwise, the Sparties surely don't improve this guess.

Every fanbase is going to have an asinine vocal minority that brings down the rest of the fanbase and the institution they are repping. What happened with Nassar and Anderson were tragedies that revealed gross mismanagement by those who knew and did nothing despite being in leadership positions.

And anyone using such tragedies as pretext to starting generalizing/insulting others is pretty pathetic.

I don't think about Sparty fans tbh.  I know a few through work and they're not insane.  The dregs at RCMB are another matter.

We Michigan fans have a few nutcases in our nation as well.

Shouldn't you already have assumed they were like this before going over there?  You can't be surprised.

But the issue over UM controlling the media is laugh worthy.  Remember Stretch gate?

Want to echo this. I love UM. I wish that Nassar had never touched a single person inappropriately. I really would rather that these thing not happen. For the UM doctor, I'm for a full investigation and remedies to what went wrong.

I hope no UM fans are gleeful about the Nassar scandal. Frankly, its a national embarrassment.

Sure, I'll offer you some insight, CUCK. You're divorced from reality because between it and you resides the BLUE WALL. It's too bad that whatever is causing you to be unable to achieve and / or maintain an erection is also making you STUPID. Spartan fans aren't insane, they're just sick and tired of having to listen to LITTLE SISTER.

The whole blue wall conspiracy is crazy. No one is out to take down MSU. Just so happens more people like Michigan because Michigan is a bigger brand and has more alumni. But there’s no media conspiracy.

The Simpson thing, I think there are still some questions, but let’s not blow it out of proportion. He was driving a friends car who lives in his building and it was a 20 year old car. Not some impermissible benefit. I kind of wish the police had done a sobriety test so we could put that to bed. But they didn’t, so we can’t say for certain he was drunk. EL police cited a sexual assault as seducing an unmarried woman, so they don’t even have a half of a leg to stand on and should honestly shut the fuck up. Whatever Simpson did, we can say for certain that he didn’t sexually assault anyone.

The doctor thing, idk. Unfortunately we don’t know enough right now. But so far it seems like the number of victims was orders of magnitude less than Nassar and I haven’t seen Schlissel or Warde defending this guy. I have seen the UM regents defending this doctor. It’s a terrible situation and I do hope Michigan supports the victims but comparing the two situations is a bit of a stretch.

edit: oops that was supposed to say the regents are not defending this guy. Point was we don’t have people doing crazy interviews like the MSU trustees, who didn’t necessarily defend Nassar but they attacked anyone who questioned the way they handled it.

I got a pretty solid list of Netflix shows to check out from RCMB.  So, there's that...  Fan is short for fanatic, so I choose not to visit a rival's blog page looking for fair and balanced conversation.

Most Sparty fans are, in all honesty, pretty level headed.

RCMB is where the guys who got booted from MLive for being a dick go to post their bullshit.
