Given where they started, MSU deserves to be ranked until they lose again.

I kind of doubt they have a significant chance of losing before they get to us (BYU and Northwestern both look worse than expected and Indiana looks worse than last year). I don't think Maryland will be able to pull that off despite their improvements under Durkin.

But honestly, I hope they keep winning until 10/29. I'd like to knock them out of the rankings ourselves.

Looking at their schedule, I almost can't see them going worse than 9-3. I think they lose to OSU and UM, but who else?

Surely not Penn State or Rutgers. Maryland and Indiana look like long shots. They play Illinois at home and I doubt the Illini are going to get blown out by Western but then win in East Lansing. Northwestern is trash this year and they also get them at home. BYU is the only significant possiblity. MSU is lucky to avoid Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota out of the West.

So who do you think should be ranked higher than them?

Crappy Georgia? A Texas team that lost to shitty Cal and looked worse against Notre Dame than MSU did? 1-2 Oklahoma? 2-2 UCLA? The TCU team that lost at home to Arkansas and gave up a million points to horrible FCS South Dakota State? Arkansas who just got blown out to a team lower ranked than Wisconsin?

The thing is, there have to be 25 teams in the top 25.

I don't understand how Georgia is still ranked after how horrid they have looked every single week since Week 1, but whatever.

Colorado would be ranked 31st if the rankings were extended. They will beat Oregon State at home next week (worst team in the PAC 12), but they will probably need to win at USC in two weeks to break into the top 25. Unless maybe they slaughter Oregon State and a few other key teams lose.

The SEC echo chamber is in hyperdrive this year. Several bad losses amongst their ranked teams and near losses to bad teams. I'm looking forward to seeing the SEC beat themselves out of so many rankings.

The fact that FSU and Ole Miss are still in great position to challenge for a playoff spot makes me want to vomit.

WHEN you lose has become more important than HOW you lose, WHO you lose to and common sense.

Poll seems fair. Georgia being ranked is kind of a joke but it's the last spot. Ole Miss gets the benefit of the doubt with the two teams they lost to, I guess. FSU might be a little overrated. You shouldn't give up 35 points to South Florida.

Two top ten games next week. The originally scheduled night game at the big house would have been HUGE this Saturday....but I guess I need to let it go.

It would get way more exposure/viewers for the conference if it was on Saturday.

Mostly my reasons are selfish though. I'm taking a red-eye flight from the West Coast to Michigan on Thursday night (probably won't sleep at all) and then have to work remotely on Friday. Need some rest before Gameday on Saturday, so there is little to no chance I will be able to stay up till 9:00ET on Friday night to watch.

So, I guess I should hush. I'm so happy to be going back to Ann Arbor this weekend.
