Anyone see us starting to poach ND kids?

I'm curious to see if any rumblings at Notre Dame might cause us to target some of their kids (ala Tennessee). Do we see going after Martin or Oliver again, or anyone else for that matter?

got our own rumblings to worry about. ND is 6-5 (although they are horrendously bad and Weis is a moron), and we just finished up a 3-9 campaign. We don't have a lot of ground to stand on with that argument. Just trying to see it through recruits' eyes, not my own.

you can also make the argument that 'through the recruits' eyes', that Weis hasn't developed any of his talent. he won at first because he had experienced seniors and juniors. over the last 4 years though he has failed to develop his players and that's why things have progressed much.

the arguments against ND, trust me. But the facts are that altough RRod has only been here for 3 months, they hear all of the negative talk surrounding him (right or wrong), and they see how kids leave or decommitt at U of Mich as well. My point is that we have our own attrition issues to deal with right now and selling ourselves (3-9 vs. 6-5) is tough right now.

The difference between ND this year and us is that there is REAL concern about the longevity of the current coaching staff. They have been there four years, have stockpiled a lot of talent (according to recruiting services), have no track record of success with the head coach, and have completely failed to develop the players they have recruited. Our downturn is three months old and our HC has been to multiple BCS bowls (with his own recruits). The situations are far different. If RR went 3-9 in year three, the situations would be very similar, but that isn't the case.

While I agree that some of these recruits may be waffling, RR has enough work ahead of himself keeping some of the kids he went after than to expand into other teams' talent pools. Right now, I want Will Campbell's name on a Michigan LOI far more than anyone ND brings in. Plus, there is something a little skeevy about pillaging kids that are committed to another program, even one run by such an arrogant and overrated HC.

Really, the only Notre Dame recruits I'm interested in are Shaq Evans and Dan Fox. And that's mainly because they play outside WR and LB, respectively, which are positions of need in this year's class.
