Anyone with insight on newest offer, Ken Ekanem?

Submitted by 7NK7 on

I saw that we recently offered Clifton (Va.) Centreville defensive end Ken Ekanem.

does anyone have any insight or access that can talk about what his interest is? the teaser made it sound like our offer was an important one for him.

No really anything on him but with the amount of offers we have out to the high end DE's in the class already, im kind of suprised by this offer.

Especially since Wormley is supposed to be a rather large lean to us.

If you remember back to last year there were reports that Wormley was not feeling the love from the Michigan coaches and that osu was showing him lots of love.  We just chalked that up to osu just committing more secondary violations.

The following is not meant to be a shot at the old staff:

I read recently on GBMW that Wormley's coaches said that the new staff has been in to the school more in the last 3 months than the previous staff did in one year.

IMO, we were playing catch up and it seems that we have caught up.

I am not in a position to speak one way or the other about Josh. I have found him to be pretty fair and accurate in his reports. He is by far closer to the recruits than I am, so I tend to believe him.

Will, or does he, make recruiting battles seem more interesting to drum up support? Maybe, but what is the harm in that? None of it matters until he commits. Painting it as being closer means that if we land him, we beat out our greatest rival for his services, if we lose him it increases our disdain for those in Ohio.

This is an awesome offer.  I went to Centreville back in the old days.  Not really known for football, so I'm sure this kid is the bomb to get Michigan's attention.

Unforunately, it looks like he's leaning towards Virginia Tech right now. He's going to their spring game with 80+ recruits. If he doesn't commit I'd say that will help Michigan's chances.
