Any experience with Tailgater Concierge/Tailgate Guys/Park N Party?

Submitted by BTB grad on August 23rd, 2021 at 5:57 PM

We've got a group of 10-15 coming in for a football game this fall from across the country and we've decided it'd be easier to just pay someone for tailgate setup, catering, clean up, etc than try to manage all that ourselves and just focus on having fun and going to the game without hassle. Does any one have any experience with any of those services? Any recommendations as to which to go with?

I did that for my 40th birthday party at an LSU game in Baton Rouge (Dak and Mississippit State pulled off the upset). Don't remember too many details, but it was definitely a great idea for a party like that.

In the same boat.  Lots of options at Park N Party.  We're just trying to get the right number of folks to where the pricing makes sense.  We were trring to get on the golf course but Park N Party doesn't support that lot anymore.

I used Park N Party for the Michigan vs Wisconsin game when Jourdan Lewis made that poster-quality interception at the end. PNP was absolutely great. We had about 7-10 coming in from down south and it absolutely was the easiest thing. Delicious food, great parking (Fingerle Lumber yard) and no clean up of any kind. The least work I’ve ever done for a tailgate.

I have also used them for at least 3 Opening Day tailgates for the Tigers. They have great connections for tents, heaters, chairs/tables and of course catering.

Highly recommend.

We used Tailgater Concierge for an alumni tailgate at the Wisco game back in 2016, and they did an excellent job. We had a big group and our own tent, which we dropped off with them a bit prior to set up for us. Kickoff was at 3:30 and they had the tent set up before noon. They also had a direct line to a single point of contact , which made me feel a lot more comfortable coordinating things from out of state.

These services sound great. What is the ballpark cost? Obviously it is dependent on what food/drink/amenities, but for something basic, what is the cost per person? $50? $100? $200?

We went super basic for a non marquee noon game and the total price for the space, food, set-up/tear down of tents and chairs. Total cost around $60 a person right now. Once we pick up our own booze (highly recommend you bring your own booze, they absolutely gouge you on this) I imagine we'll be closer to $80 each

Yeah this is why I chose against Tailgate Guys. Our group is known to get rowdy and we also want the classic tailgate experience which I was worried about in the location. Considered Tailgater Concierge (Pioneer) but ultimately went with Park N Party since they got us in a house yard on S Main right across from the stadium so a great location and atmosphere.

We've used Tailgate Guys twice and had a good experience both times. Great location (Ferry Field with access to clean and heated bathrooms), full service (they even unload / load your car), catering options (we used Slows BBQ), and media package so you can watch pregame / early & late games, and for those that just want to watch the game in the tent.  Strongly recommend.  One drawback is that they started selling 2 game minimums, but have since relaxed that requirement.  Happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

Thanks, Ringer19!  I can't tel lif my reply posted.  Just a couple of follow-ups.

1) How long of a walk is it to the stadium?

2) Did people mingle between tailgates?  We're hoping to meet locals and others. We did something like this at USC and it was mostly corporate sponsored tailgates and pretty stuffy with people keeping to themselves.

Thanks!

10 minute walk. Same walk the band takes from warm up to the Big House.  Ferry Field is large enough that there is plenty of room to mingle, throw a football, without being right on top of each other.  There were a few corporate tents, but mostly just families / friends and everyone was friendly and outgoing. Best part is the loading and unloading. You pull your car up and they take care of the rest.  You really don't have to do a thing!
