He is at Michigan, and finishing a Communications degree in LS&A. I remember reading a brief article from about a year or 6 months ago, which said that he remains on scholarship and is working toward a 2009 or 2010 graduation.

glad to hear he is almost done with school. I hope the best for the kid after a life changing injury.

I love that his scholarship is still valid. Class move all the way.

My understanding is that while he is on Scholarship still it doesn't count against the football team. I think it is a medical waiver type thing since he is actually lucky to be walking fairly normal.

Medical scholarships do not count against the 85-man limit.

I remember hearing that he blew it out in practice or something, but was that it? Did he just take an unfortunate hit, or was it some freak thing?
I remember Carr saying that losing Bass "set the program back". Sucks that he can't play anymore, but at least he's still getting a scholarship.

Having Antonio Bass would have meant a lot to us on the field. He was such an incredible talent. It's really a tragedy that he got injured in such a way.

this was brought up. I was just thinking about him a week or so ago. This guy was going to be a true "dual threat" QB at Michigan. I don't know if Lloyd would ever have taken full advantage of his talent, but I would have liked to see him get the chance.

He was not going to be a QB here. He was a WR who was occasionally going to be used in a wildcat formation.
Some have speculated that he would have played QB last year, under RR, if he'd been healthy, but I doubt it. He would have been a senior last year (assuming he wouldn't have already gone pro), and would have spent three years at WR. It's not likely he'd have wanted to learn a new position at that point.

Antonio Bass jokes just don't come up enough anymore. There was a period between late 2006 to 2007 where he probably showed up in every haloscan thread.
