Age of Michigan three major men's sports HC hires, all time
With the hire of a "young" new football head coach this year (and a "young" new hockey coach almost two years ago), this seemed an interesting opportunity to try and gauge what "young" is in our sports context.
A quick compilation of Michigan major men's sports head coaches and their ages at time of becoming HC (ages & years are approximate to within one year).

Never woulda guessed Fisher was younger than Juwan. He always looked older.

Fritz Crisler being 39 was a surprise to me - I always imagined him as an older guy.

I don't see any correlations of note, but an interesting post none the less

Surprising that Bump was 34 when he took the job. It aged him prematurely.

Always amazed that Bo retired at 60, Carr at 62. They both seemed tired and ready to retire.
Jim is 60 NOW and seems ready for another decade-plus.
