AFC & NFC Championship Thread
Ladies and germs we have 2 very good games on deck today! Will Mahomes be good on that ankle? Can Purdue get to the Super Bowl as a rook? Will Hurts be able to impose his will vs a formidable 9ers D? Will Burrow feel at home @ “Burrowhead”?
I got Cincy vs 9ers in the SB…what say you?

Only 3 hours and 15 minutes until kickoff…

Hoping for a Bengals-49ers Super Bowl. I'll settle for a 49ers-Chiefs Super Bowl.
I actually have a ticket to the game and I really don't want to see the Eagles.
January 29th, 2023 at 12:36 PM ^
I’m with you picking the 9ers but Hurts will have a say and it’ll be close.
January 29th, 2023 at 12:44 PM ^
I'm a Lions fans, but I'm all-in on 49ers. My dad was a huge 49ers fan (he had season tickets in the 1970s and his last year as a season ticket holder was for The Catch) so I can't help but cheer for them. I'm also born and raised in CA and still live less than 3 hours from Levi's Stadium.
Bought tickets to the game for the hello of it back in July at the same time I bought Lions season tickets. Seeing a team I care about would make that purchase a bit more justifiable.

Philly earned that blowout, San fran had the worst year of QB health ever! The 3rd string QB gets hurt, the 4th string QB gets hurt and a compromised 3rd stringer had to come back in. That Philly front is tough!!!
January 29th, 2023 at 11:52 AM ^
Being a germ, I’ll be rooting for Purdue today - and, hope they defend their home court against the squad from EL.
As for Purdy, it will be a tall task. Philly is tough, and especially, tough at home.
I have no rooting interest, but - a Philly v Cincy Super Bowl wouldn’t surprise me.
Enjoy…

Dad-blamed auto correct 😂

I've had Cin vs 49ers as my SB picks for sometime.... early season it looked like the Bills all the way
I think it's the 49ers this year. McCaffery put them over the top
January 29th, 2023 at 6:40 PM ^
Umm…no
January 29th, 2023 at 8:16 PM ^
welp... so much for that
January 29th, 2023 at 11:58 AM ^
damn, just saw this after I posted. here was my post.
Who you got? What are your bets?
Lots of line movement in the KC/Cin game throughout the week based on Mahomes ankle news and speculation. KC went from being a favorite, to underdog, and back again. They are now up to a 2.0 point favorite with a late line move this morning.
Philly has been a 2.5 point favorite all week, until this morning with a late line move as well up to 3. That's a pretty big deal to hit the key number.
Here are my bets, I call this my 'teaser window' strategy. Teasing both sides along with the over/under 6.5 points.
Teaser #1
KC +4.5 & over 41.5
CIN +8.5 & over 41.5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Teaser #2
SF +9.5 & under 51.5
Philly +3.5 & under 51.5
I'm expecting two close games and really think the over/unders will play to form.

I didn't realize that it was a possibility, but now I'm pulling for Purdue's first visit to the Super Bowl.

Rabid fan of the 49ers and Wolverines. The Harbaugh thread that runs between these two programs continues as Shanahan righted the ship in SF as Harbaugh did and again in Ann Arbor.
Expecting a great and gritty game played on both sides of the ball. Philly is a nasty environment even in mild weather. Glad to be rooting for the underdog here and there’s an edge to this team that is much sharper than last season and the muffed pic by Tartt that put the Rams in the SB.
Predict SF 23, PHI 21 as time expires.
January 29th, 2023 at 12:37 PM ^
Feels like an away team kinda day.
January 29th, 2023 at 1:37 PM ^
Eagles gonna show out and prove everyone wrong. Let’s go Birds!
January 30th, 2023 at 8:30 AM ^
Eagles boat raced em!!
January 29th, 2023 at 2:08 PM ^
Weather could end up being a big factor in the NFC game.
January 29th, 2023 at 2:38 PM ^
I just hope all four teams have fun and that both games are close.
January 29th, 2023 at 6:42 PM ^
Participation trophies for everyone!
January 29th, 2023 at 2:40 PM ^
The 49ers have Matt Saracen at QB. How can they lose?
January 29th, 2023 at 3:16 PM ^
Stickum catch by Smith
January 29th, 2023 at 3:25 PM ^
Except he dropped it
January 29th, 2023 at 3:42 PM ^
No one knew until replay about 5 mins later
January 29th, 2023 at 3:27 PM ^
Officiating continues to be god awful. I refuse to believe this is the best the billion dollar leagues can do. It’s malpractice at this point
January 29th, 2023 at 3:28 PM ^
Every one of these four teams has been in a Super Bowl since the Lions last appeared in a playoff game and all but Cincinnati have won the Super Bowl since the Lions last won its division or a playoff game.
Goals for next year
January 29th, 2023 at 6:43 PM ^
Every year is “next year” for the lions! The Ford family are genius.

LETS GOOOO BIRDS
January 29th, 2023 at 3:32 PM ^
Well, that's 7 points Shanahan has cost his team thus far. Gotta throw the flag there, especially when the receiver wants to hurry.
January 29th, 2023 at 3:35 PM ^
Yikes. It gets worse for SF
January 29th, 2023 at 3:36 PM ^
Shit, this game might be over already.
January 29th, 2023 at 3:43 PM ^
Josh Johnson, who just came in for Purdy, was Harbaugh's quarterback in college at San Diego. He's been a career backup for 15 years for many teams. He is one of the reasons Harbaugh has the reputation he has for developing quarterbacks. His first series wasn't so great, hope it's up from here (if he stays in).
January 29th, 2023 at 3:44 PM ^
SF needs to do something on this drive. Whether it's Purdy or the backup, they need a drive.
January 29th, 2023 at 3:50 PM ^
This is pretty bananas for a 7-0 game.
January 29th, 2023 at 3:53 PM ^
Poor damn purdy. Worst pain I've ever felt was a fractured elbow.
January 29th, 2023 at 3:55 PM ^
Only 7-0 but feels like 35-0.
SF was in FG range and then managed to go backwards fast.
January 29th, 2023 at 4:01 PM ^
The constant false starts by the Philly tackles are annoying
January 29th, 2023 at 4:04 PM ^
It summed up how things were going for Michigan at the time when it was obvious from the beginning of that season that OSU freshman Nick Bosa was clearly better than Michigan freshman and #1 recruit Rashan Gary. Times have changed.
January 29th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
That was vintage CMac
January 29th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
And somehow it's tied.
January 29th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
Literally gotta defend one fucking guy. Come on guys.
January 29th, 2023 at 4:16 PM ^
Since Harbaugh has a proclivity for borrowing Philly’s plays; I hope he takes a look at how the Birds run QB sneaks.
January 29th, 2023 at 6:45 PM ^
Too soon, too soon…
January 29th, 2023 at 4:23 PM ^
49ers D really blowing chances this drive. Need to hold them to 3 here. With current QB I can't imagine they'll try to do something with under 2:00 to play once they get the ball back.
January 29th, 2023 at 4:28 PM ^
3 penalties on SF defense this drive. Back to back runs Sanders sticks his hands in the defenders facemask, but I guess that's fine since he doesn't play for SF.
January 29th, 2023 at 4:33 PM ^
Fumble. Eagles in FG range. I'd say this game is all but over despite the score being close.
EDIT: 21-7. Goodnight.
January 29th, 2023 at 4:36 PM ^
Things not looking too Purdy for SF right now.
