Ace interviewed by Sports Illustrated on the Michigan Recruiting under Harbaugh
It's always cool to see MGoBlog mentioned in pieces by major sports outlets like ESPN and SI, but a full article is even better. Ace talks about the state of pre-Harbuagh recruiting, Harbuagh's first half class (2015) and his first full class (2016).
Also, importantly, the SI author (Martin Rickman) name drops the M00N game.

But I'd like to fix that first sentence for you...

Very cool article & interview.
I would also say that upon reading it I'm pretty sure the SI writer is at least a an occasional visitor to the site. I mean he not only got the "M00N" game reference he correctly tapped the right Ace for the interview. Sorry Chatsports - maybe next time.

Awesome interview, Ace. It's awesome to see Mgoblog go more mainstream. This is the best place for any information on Michigan sports.

I personally do not wish Mgoblog to go "more mainstream"... I cannot imagine a worse turn of events.
But talent will out, which is why Ace was hired to replace TomVH, etc. If you got the chops you may move on...Brian is like a Harblogger, building a tree!

Jeez, it will be 10 years this fall, won't it? I wonder if Brian has anything special planned.

Great job Ace! You represented yourself and MGoBlog very well!

Well done, Ace.
Interesting comment on Speight, and how you thought he was the least likely to be in the Harbaugh "mold" of QBs. He's basically the same size as Gentry, but if he is more of a Navarre statue mold and less than mobile, then I can see Gentry being more the choice with his mobility.
Gentry will have the "in" regardless because he was handpicked by Harbaugh. I agree that Morris should have the inside track with even half decent coaching, but by middle of fall camp, Harbaugh the QB-whisperer will know who's his choice to start at Utah.

That's an interesting adjective. Maybe the guy means that after the performance against Minnesota, he can only "rise".
January 29th, 2015 at 1:06 PM ^
Eh, rising junior is a pretty common term. It essentially just meants that he will be a junior next year.
January 29th, 2015 at 1:11 PM ^
Harbaugh is very much set up for success. After four years under Hoke, anything that resembles watchable football has to be considered progress. The fans will be unusually willing to accept a few losses if the offensive line starts knocking guys off the ball and the quarterback doesn't look irreparably broken because of systemic issues largely beyond his control.
Ace said it much better (and more briefly) than I could right here - this more or less encapsulates my expectations, particularly for this first year.
Well done and an excellent interview from both sides, I thought. It is nice to see the staff getting recognition.

Also importantly, Michael Rosenberg has nothing to do with the article.
