I'm more worried about our offense on 3rd and 8-10. We seemed to want to throw the ball 20-30 yards in this situation quite often instead of just trying to get the yards necessary for a 1st down. I know it was mentioned in a thread earlier that it might be due to a dearth of options in the receiving corps.
I'm interested to see what pops up in UFR. Are we just running vertical routes, or are we making the wrong reads as our QBs (mainly Tate) are trying to be heroes?

Flashbacks of last year huh? Not sure how we fix that... maybe Steve Sharik has the answer.

It seems like we have an easier time stopping 3rd and shorts because teams are more likely to run against us. 3rd and longs inevitably end with us having to cover someone, which is a bit of an issue at the moment.

our defense is soft i cant see why they still can not cover who gives up 3rd and 24 for a 1st down.im sick and tired of lossing to teams we know we should beat.

I didn't know if it was just me, but it has seemed like we have played like shit on 3rd down, most notably in the first half. It would be interesting to see the statistics of how much yardage is given up on 3rd down relative to 1st and 2nd downs.

the most disappointing thing about this years D. Those things change momentum and give offenses a ton of confidence.
Really, the inability to stop 3rd and long has lost 2 games in a row for us if you think about it.
frustrating with a capital F

that 3rd and 24 pass should have been called back for holding cause the Iowa O-lineman was holding Graham like no other. Oh well, can't get every call i guess.
